Some pics of my recently acquired '71 T/A.

First of all thanks to forum member 455hota for connecting me up with the car and its second owner, and for assistance in retrieving it from its Ontario, Canada hometown of 45 years

It's a 4-speed car with three factory options: Console, AM Radio, and Rear Speaker. It has 16,700 original miles, original paint, stripes, interior, etc. The low miles are attributable to its having been essentially a dedicated drag car in its early years, followed by a life of indoor storage, with occasional outings to shows by the first and second owners who appreciated what it was. As a result of the early racing activity, the original block is gone. Pretty much everything else is original, save a few odds/ends like chrome valve covers, the vintage oil pressure gauge installed in the dash, and the exhaust downstream of the manifolds (original system a victim of the race car thing).

Interestingly, the GM Canada docs state the car was first delivered to "GM of Canada Show Car Account Oshawa, Ont". The dealer that ultimately received it, Fenton's Pontiac in Port Elgin, Ontario (their sticker is still on the taillight panel), told the first owner it was used by GM of Canada for filming ads.

It's an amazing machine to drive... feels just like new, AM radio still works, doors close beautifully, seats are comfortable in a way the repros never quite get right, etc.

I love the look with the wheel tire combo. it looks like my ra4 car the way I had it back in 1980 when I took this picture.

Bird72 and 4birds , it is not a survivor car as the original engine has not survived. It's a Super nice find and a great car but technically not a survivor. There is a standard to this term and this car dosen't fit it.

didn't catch that part! Of the four survivor components, paint & body, interior, underside, and engine, you have structurally and car integrity wise the remaining most important aspects still though.

Like I posted its a hell of a car and I would love to have it. It has Almost all that is required to be a true survivor car but falls just short. I have seen the term misused a lot .

the original owner told me that he hated the blue shaker because it didn't stand out enough. so he had it repainted white when the car was new. he also said that he thought it was stupid that they would put the ram air and ram air IV decals on gto's and not the ta's so he added them also.
here is another pic of the car I took at the same time. I had changed the oil in it and spilled it all over the driveway when I pulled the pan out from under it. my dad was really pissed at me for it.

I put original paint as the most minor aspect of the list. Paint is there to protect the sheet metal. IMHO

Original drivetrain is most on my list. Especially the vin on block...
