your pissing and moaning about the show because your afraid you won't have enough friends there for you to win a $10.00 trophy but you hope it rains on the day everybody is busting their ass and arranging their schedule around so they have to scramble and change plans/logistics for the rain date so you can be there because you will be "on vacation" the day the event was originally scheduled. how about you give everyone your 2017 "vacation" schedule so they can plan their events around you. and people wonder why events go away.

Jim, why so bitter? I was just pointing out my experience with PV shows, sorry if you did not like my opinion.
And about the weather and the raindate.. You do know that what I say really has no bearing on what the weather is going to do, right? I was just hoping to make the show with the car this year because you guys were right about the show.
Relax Jim, its all love.. We are all Pontiac loving friends, no need for hard feelings. Sorry if I made you upset .

I, too, have pretty much given up attending most local PV shows. "I'll vote for this car because it's red" or "My grandad let me steer his back in the day, so I'll vote for this one" just doesn't get it.
HOWEVER, the SVGTO Show is always a "Must" one my calendar. This is one of the best shows around, and always brings out interesting Pontiac's. They do a great job of running a car show, and I would echo their guiding principle - "it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Thanks Jack, your comment is DEEPLY APPRECIATED. We go to extra lengths to assure our guests our show is run fair for everyone. We have never noticed a buddy voting system at our show. If we did we'd devise steps to eliminate it. Our guests make our show so special. We're truly blessed to have so many great people attend our show.

Thanks again,

Vic

We drive over 3 hours each way to get to this show, and it's worth it. I guess we(a small group of 6-8) look at this show as a weekend of Pontiac fun, with the trophys being "icing on the cake". The club puts on a nice show, and they truly "appreciate" all that attend, that's why we'll be there again this year!

Our 2016 All Pontiac Show is 2 months out.

The 50th anniversary of the ‘66 GTO is being celebrated. 2016 saw the passing of Famed Automotive Artist Art Fitzpatrick. Art’s drawings of the GTO and Pontiacs is legendary in the Pontiac world. In honor of Art Fitzpatrick’s work in our hobby each Class Winner and Best of Show Award recipient will receive a commemorative copy of the 1966 GTO drawing by the late Art Fitzpatrick on a marbleized plaque. We’re sure the winners of these awards will appreciate this keepsake. Maybe you will be a winner of one of our awards?

Frank, even tho this is a PV show it's not as bad as you think. I've had my modified 66 GTO there for a few shows... when I could make it... an have won a trophy. Why I don't know because I hardly knew or know anyone at the shows. Yes I've been to PV shows many times and seen exactly what you explain. Not very sporting from people but it happens. AND, I have not seen it happen at the SVGTO shows I've been to. Everyone is pretty fair on voting. If you deserve a trophy you probably will get one.

Let me add... I don't care if I get a trophy or not. No big deal like it is for some I see at PV car shows. I do not care for "dust catchers" even tho I have half a dozen. Only the special ones I keep, the rest are donated to a worthy cause to be recycled. Only the ones I've kept are from only one small show I attend.... The Newark Elks Club show every May. They give out small but unique trophies that are worth keeping. All the rest from shows are just big ol run of the mill trophies that I get rid of.

Vic, you should have used a 66 GTO on the plaques.... not a 67. 67's big year is next year.
But it's ok.... just had to pick on ya a bit. Next year use a 66. LOL

Vic, question on the classes.

I see your flyer states "Modified: Any performance enhancing modifications"

I have a 68 GTO, with a mild cam and a 2.5" exhaust. Everything else is stock. Would I be in the modified or Stock class?

Thanks

Gary

We used Art's '66 drawing. Look again closely, you can see the GTO crest on the fender NOT the rocker trim. Next year we may do something with the '67's 50th. Next year is our 10th Anniversary car show too, wheels are already spinning.

One performance enhancing mod automatically puts one in a mod class. If our tech guys don't see that performance mod they may not know. Let them know about the mild cam. They'll advise and class accordingly. We're not "hardcore strict" like for National events. If you register stock just let them know. It's generally the real obvious mods headers etc.
