Hey Mike, can I ask what size pushrod do you use and has the pushrod hole been moved ?
Thanks and good luck this season. John |

Sure. The pushrods are 7/16 to 3/8 taper .165 wall. And the intake rocker is .700 offset. So yes the pushrod hole was moved.

Piston is OK. Valve, Guide was ripped out of head, Rocker arm junk obviously the spring and retainer. It's all fixed up. Just waiting on a head gasket.

I thought it might be the guide or seat. Glad it's fixed, go get'em!

Was the valve to guide clearance to tight? Making that must steam your egt's must expand that valve a bunch.

What springs you running? Did the dyno let go of the engine at any point? I've broke a couple PAC double springs from the dyno letting go.

Great thread Mike. Very pertinent info. Thanks for the many details. Best of luck with the dyno session; Looking forward to some top level numbers.

Sometimes you just happen to be the guy that gets the part that is not perfect and then you have an issue. Especially when the part is "exercised" like Mike is doing his deal.
Keep after it Mike! Tom V.

I asked this because of the adjacent valve in the photo- the non-concentricity of the retainer with the O.D. of the top of the spring is visible. So the retainer's shoulder must not be a snug fit in the spring I.D. This, in combination with the skimpy retainer O.D. and cross section in that area (considering the extreme loading), would cause me to suspect retainer failure.

Mike,
Your car has progressed quite a lot over the last few years. Can you talk about what you've used fuel-wise from being a mid nine second combo to what it is now? |

Back in the day with the 477 that was 13.7 cr we ran c14. We tried q16 In 2010 with good results. Still running it now. There are fuels that show more power but they are risky imo.
