Oscar Koveleski's 1971 Can-Am car, sponsored by Auto World. In the days before the web, Auto World was THE best mail order company for automotive plastic models and slot cars. Notice the wide stripe that forms a ring around Koveleski's car is a slot car track.

Yes and that pix is one of the few I've seen in recent times with the Autoworld Slot track grafic as was on the cover of the Yellow Auto World catalog I had as a kid in the 60's to early '70s. As I remember it, AW catalog was like the former Hemmings a sort of "Bible" for modeling...at the time with everything a modeler could want or need.

also this cat, owned and drove real race cars, and major events!!! he was the real deal!!!

Me & my brother. 1974, Wausau Wisconsin. My mothers cousin was on the crew on this car. Never did see it race though.......
