Need the gap spacing for pts. and plugs 66 GTO 389 4 speed
Title says it all. Looking for the gap spacing for pts. and plugs. for a 389 4 speed. Also what's the best plugs?

IIRC points are 19 and plugs are 35. I use A/C Delco R43s in my 67 400 but have thought about trying the E3.51.

Per a Chilton's repair manual (anyone remember those)dated 1973, for 1966 GTO 389 breaker gap is .019, the plug gap is .035 (AC44S).
Per the AMA Specifications sheet in my 1966 PHS documentation, breaker gap is .016, and plug gap is .033 - .038, same plug |

If your running a lot of timing put the point gap at 16ths or 30 for dwell & the plugs at 32 so your not blowing the spark out when its running advanced.

I ended up using AC 45 S, that what was in the car and that's what the parts book had as the plug. I set the points at .19. I don't have a dwell meter. May get that and the timing checked at my buddies. I'm also installing a new dist. cap and wires. Car starts quickly and runs smooth. Here are a few pics.
