Oil pump came with a copper gasket. I installed studs to hold the pump in place.

Because it is an Indian Adventures block, which has register mounted main caps, as opposed to dowel pinned caps, The oil pan rail is lower than a factory block. This causes a mismatch at the timing cover.

So I installed a factory timing cover part of the oil pan gasket. This pretty much leveled it out for the one piece oil pan gasket to have any hope at all of sealing.

This is getting dynoed tomorrow with a carburetor. It's going to be fuel injected when in the car.

Any guesses what it'll do?

Here are the main specs for it.

510.7 CID.
4.250" bore x 4.500" stroke.
Edelbrock D-port heads, reportedly flow 317'ish.
10.5:1 compression.
Lunati Voodoo solid roller cam, 255/263, 285/293 Adv., .646 lift after lash.
.904 bushed Crower solid roller lifters, bronze lifter bore bushings.
Autotec pistons with 1.5x1.5x3 millimeter rings.
6.7" Eagle rods.
RPM intake, port matched.
.116" wall pushrods.
Stud girdle.

Paul, all the work you did looks really impressive but I have to ask at what point is it better as far as cost and reliability to just start with a new block that didn't have so much damage to it. I know you wouldn't let it go out if it wasn't right so don't think I am being critical, it just seems like a whole lot of machining to do to save a block.

How do you tell someone to scrap something they just paid a lot of money for? He wanted an aluminum block and it was still cheaper than buying a new one. He had too much invested in it to just call it quits. We gave an estimate to fix it, and that's what he wanted to do, so we fixed it. If he had bought a new aluminum block, he would still have to spend another $800-$1000 to machine it and clearance it to get it ready for building. So he would have been a few more thousand dollars in the hole with a new one.
Plus, we like challenges!

I really have no idea what machine work runs, especially at that level. It really isn't cheap to build that kind of power. I might be finding out tomorrow that I am going to need to machine an engine I bought that was supposed to be fresh from the shop with only dyno time on it. I can understand the being into it too far to go back and if I need to get this new engine redone I am going to lose my mind. I can't wait to see what HP/TQ numbers it cranks out.

I wanted to dyno it with my Victor intake on it, but I would have had to modify it a bunch to make it fit. Those modifications need to wait for my engine.
I think this RPM intake will limit it from it's true potential. I bet it still makes 600+ hp though.

Seen the engine specs you posted.
Lots of cam duration as I like.
Should make real nice HP & pull to 7K rpm at will when required or desired to.

Dual plane makes it a true street engine to me.

The HIT 3500-4500 should be real NICE.
Tire Frying torque at speed 60-100 mph on street radial M+S performance tires.
Even Corvette 315's will Melt catch on FIRE !

Dammit. I was hoping to almost catch up to the car that this engine will go into after I had done my mods this last year. Now there will be no hope at all!

Tuning in like a new episode of "Sister Wives".

Seriously, tho. This engine is gonna break the rest of the car. Awesome. Can't wait to see the numbers.

SO single plane intakes aren't true street engines?

Here is what I guessed last night.

647 HP @ 6500, and 678 Ft. Lbs. @ 4500.

We shall see!
