What are "they"? If you are talking about all Pontiac heads, I'm interested in hearing more details.
Edit: that came out sounding like I meant Bob & Frank's ALL-PONTIAC heads- that's NOT what I meant.

I imagine that 99% of members viewing this thread aren't interested in a head that won't bolt to a traditional Pontiac block. Just sayin'.

I get you guys are excited about dicks performance, but to compare it with jacks it this point begs the question... Since they're not far off in weight, and within 50hp on motor, how much has each sprayed yet?

It's possible one man knew something was off in his combination and decided to find it before the engine was damaged. Maybe the other party didn't see it coming.

Im Really trying to have something that's good bang for the buck. And we could currently have that with multiple castings that are currently available. But nope ! I don't know what some of these guys are thinking when they designed this stuff. Frustrating. |

Maybe you should design a new wish bang Pontiac head and get -6% on your return....

Truth is I would gladly talk to some of these people that have castings and give them to valve locations and such for free just so I can have something to work with and not have my customers have to pay Fortune to have it be the best it could be. I get that these people are up against stock bore size valve locations vs. Aftermarket block valve locations. But it shouldn't be a big deal to have two programs one for smallbore and one for large bore |

E head is almost a direct copy of a mildly ported Ram Air IV casting, every part will interchange directly including intake gaskets, try doing that with any other manufacturers race head vs. their OE counterpart. NHRA Pro Mod takes this to a whole new level with the billet 5.0 bore center stuff. Clean sheet race stuff. Even Pro Stock has to follow some OE architecture. Knife to a gunfight is an understatement: BB gun vs. cannon

Got a set here now. Looked at it hard and reevaluated my thoughts on it. Seems like a tremendous amount of work and effort for pretty much a lateral move imo. If the customer wants to go down that road I'm certainly up for it and we can make it as good as it can be. But from where I'm standing it just kind of doesn't make sense. If you want to discuss I'm willing to get into extreme detail on what I see and think. No bashing, no negative agenda just honest opinion. |
