Hell why not.
Kelvin Poe made around 150hp more with his cv-1 engine vs his HP engine. Car picked up .2-.3 and 3mph? Would you be happy with that Bill? Sounds like you find it to be an impressive gain.
Again you brought his car into this discussion not me.

Lol! No hate, just saying i didn't find it impressive like Bill did. I know when i gained 150hp my car ran .5+ quicker and 10mph. Thought i should point out why i felt that way.

Again, there is more to a race car than the heads. A bad converter alone could do what you describe. Why do you assume it was the heads? If the engine MADE 150 hp more, it sure sounds like it was something else. This is amazing to me. Is there a 101 class for racing here? Sure seems like some folks need to start back at the beginning.

TTB is very well versed in expected gains from increased power. All of his CV1 combos have made more power than their predecessor.

But bolting on 150 more HP isnt a good gain??? There are plenty of reasons any car might not realize its potential at the track. Doesnt mean the motor is at fault.

I'm not impressed with the 1290 either, didn't show a pony over the 11xx that was in the next lane.

Maybe in time it will.

I never once said it had to do with the heads. Please point out where i said it did??
If you're going to use a car for an example wouldn't you choose one that is sorted out??
Agian i didn't bring his car into this Bill did. I personally would select a car that didn't have issues and backed up the dyno numbers to bolster my argument, wouldn't you?

... exactly, making a change to a larger CSA cylinder will often times comes with many changes needed to get all of the power to the ground, but most would already know this ...

... doe's one really think that a change to something with near this level of CSA (see pic below) that the car will not require changes to fully realize it's potential ?????? ...

... wake up people, wake up ... leech has tried to tell you guys over and over but most don't listen ... CSA changes everything ...

Im running exact same converter, exact same gear as i did when i made 150hp less horsepower. Zero changes and car picked up .5+ and 10mph. Maybe we did something wrong when we gained the 150hp??

So who lost power over previous heads Paul? Do tell.

BTW you deserve a point of credit this time...at least you dropped a name.

... how much CSA at the entry, at the 2nd choke point, at the apex, and at the convergence point in the bowl are you running, and what size valve are you running ??? ...

#1...you ACT like it has something to do with the heads. Especially since the context is a change to CV-1 heads

#2...he's used various examples, from ones that are still sorting themselves out to ones that are. A 150 hp increase is an increase. If the car only gained a little in ET and mph its pretty obvious to consider looking beyond the heads.

#3...Yes, Bill brought the car up. A 150 hp increase by bolting on a set of heads is pretty impressive. Period. If the car isnt sorted yet...well again, its the car not the heads most likely.

I really think you like this argument enough that you are willing to ignore what others see. MOST people would be pretty happy with such a gain. But I guess you wouldn't be.

Once again you miss the point. IF your converter were slipping.....YOUR converter that is....you might not have gained .5 and 10 mph. But I guess you would have blamed it on the heads.
