I'm guessing that this picture was taken close to Santa Monica Beach. The year was 1944, and the car is a '41 Ford convertible. In the picture is my Dad, his Mom, myself and my sister. Later that car had an engine fire while we were driving. My Dad let the family out of the car and he drove it to the fire station. I don't know the total damage, but I do know that when my Dad filed a claim Farmers said they covered fires, but not engine fires. No one in the family ever used Farmers insurance again.
