Good plan..they do flow well!I've had these mufflers for years...they were first put on my old Trans Am when it was running 14's..just on a basic 455 build..by replacing the stock 2 1/4" inch tailpipes with 2.5 inch tailpipes and the Ultraflows..it picked up 3 tenths..They have to be 14 years old!

Ultraflows are really good mufflers. Fairly quiet also. My 78 TA ran identical time/mph open headers to 3" Dr. Gas X pipe, 3" Ultraflows and 3" torque Tech tailpipes even with the extra weight of the system. Open header runs had no system behind it on the car at all.

TAMAN - what rpm to cross the stripe at? Where in the 1/4 do you shift into high gear?

Can't give u an exact rpm or distance...at the stripe I think I'm at a little over 5000rpm on the factory tach..I have no clue where I go into drive?Maybe 1/8 th mile...I focus on the tree and launch, check the tach shift, check the tach shift...watch for the pylons a the stripe and make sure I don't let up till thru..If I do a little math I could figure out where I go into drive...at 660ft 98 mph with a 3.08 gear and 28 tire..

Pump gas, 91-92 octane I would use a Street Solid Roller 248-252 at .050 .650 lift 114 lsa 112ilc, Bullet Lobes LS Firing order. SD 315 cnc Aluminum D-port heads with a Fully Ported T2 Intake And 1000hp carb 1-7/8 headers 4200 continental converter with 3.42-3.55 gears and a 400 trans Make about 645hp at 6400rpm and 600tq at 4900 rpm run low to mid tens on pump gas with very good drivability It's Pretty budget friendly and would be a beast, message me about your current combo if you like, sorry for the high jack !

It's to bad they don't have the Pontiac Southern Nationals down here anymore at the Texas Motorplex you would have loved it.
Keep on rocking, good job. .
