That is about the color my 65 was painted when I got it. I think they were actually calling mine GM Metallic Racing Green, probably an after market color. The car was originally Teal Turquoise.

Very nice looking car.

Default Highrisk, thank you...

...the old lady who ordered my car from Framingham mass plant wanted a lemans but wanted the chevelle color bahama green....what i didn't realize is that pontiac, old, buick and chevy were built on the same assembly lines at many plants...makes sense...she wanted this green but knew chevelle were not as stylish as a new lemans!!

Awesome color, that car looks perfect.

Not enough people realize how great these cars look restored to factory original.

Default Thanks for compliment on 'car looking perfect'...

..but it is far from perfect...i have over 100,000 miles on it since 1998 resto..from Mass to DC, to Md, to Florida, Maine, Cape cod and back several dozen times!!!..I always try to encourage peopl;e to resto lemans as LEMANS, not GTO..they are the every-day-man's car..not some rich-bitche's GTO of perfection so much the owner's are scared shiiitless to drive them!!..I have a BLAST with my 326 Lemans!!!

Very nice '65! Any details like options, mileage, what plant built it, etc. Looks like black with red interior?

Default Finally,another True64

I've owned two 64 GTO's in my life.Back then i always managed to pay less than $200 and i even drove my 1st off a lot in the backwoods of Va. My 2nd was while attending a Technical College After i left Uncle Sam. I was lucky enough to use it as a school project.
Those days were long ago and i went without any until early turn of the century when i bought my 65 tempest with plans to create a clone. I then learned of the forumns and been lucky enough to learn alot while always admiring all the 64's i seen.
Finally i have aquired me another 64 GTO,fully documented but not without fault.Plenty of work ahead of me and without it's original engine. But thats ok,i can live with that. I want to upgrade the car a little as i plan to drive it. Heres a couple of pics from where i found it and within the week we're heading down to bring her home. Had to move the 65 and get it ready for sale before having room for the 64. I'll shut up and share some pics now and of course more during the build.

I think it's cool that you've got a '65 interior - and parchment, too. That's my favorite year, but I'm biased, of course.

Yea that was one thing that caught my eye as the seats looked too good.I have a set of 64's also, but covers are no big deal.Bummer it's missing the rear bottom seat as that'll be a item i'll need to source.
