I mean diverse as in all cars (Chevy, Chrysler, Pontiac. Olds, buick,AMC...) they all are cool even though they have different engines. I guess he hates the NHRA. Top fuel and funny cars are Chrysler hemi design. I bet he hates later trans am's since they came with OLDS motors.
Get used to engine swaps, just about every ford coupe has a chevy in it! It has been going on for a very long time.
Engine swaps don't bother me,although i have to disagree with dragncar,i prefer a bbc over fords.
While i agree with some of what he said,i think the rest is just over the top ranting. Lol

Being on the outside, the parts availability of pontiac aftermarket parts is worse than i had thought, its know wonder people switch.
I suspect big chief went with the cv heads because they seem to be the next step up,and available. IDK.
You would think vendors would be listening, but instead are comfortable selling to current customers, since there is zero profit to be made in producing blocks, although selling 1500 or more with no profit margin,is a helluva charity.

And he just told two guys on this board there cars suck, he would spit on the ground when he sees a chevy in a Pontiac, and if I said good job I can suck lemons. LOL
Just because someone does not want to wait for parts and spend twice as much on a brand specific motor, does not make them a bad guy. So good luck to Curt and his new set up. The guy has been contributing here and helping this board for a while, now he sucks??
That is just laughable. Dude is wound way too tight. Hey man,it's not that bad.
Its understandable why curt and others have to move on,its too bad they have too,but i never implied they are bad people for doing so.

When you have a Pontiac engine and bored with racing, its time to go Hot Rodding. I would love to have a 41 willys or a 32 ford with a turbo pontiac.

Have a great holiday season everyone!!

Curt,
Just drop your proport engine off at BES and you'll kicking ass in no time. Good luck with whatever direction you go.

Its my understanding he has 2 sets of CV's. One set for Crowmod the other for the "new" Crow. I may have misread it on Facebook, but pretty sure I didnt.

From what I can figure Curt was reluctant to go with CV1's. And thats his call to make not mine. Maybe in the future, then again maybe not.

That is the easiest thing to do but some seem to have a hard time doing it.

What CV headed N2O app Pontiac makes significantly over 1100 NA at 13:1 or so compression??? NOT the Visner headed one for sure.

You are correct that a CV1 Pontiac hasnt been built for 1200 NA yet. That said, 25-30 more cubes about 2.5 + points more compression and cammed for NA app, it seems 1200 should be doable with CV1's ported for the application.

Didnt Curt get disappointing results with Pro Ports from same folks who built your turd?? And who was behind his Tigers???

I dont know what the rest of us think, I'm thinking maybe the folks who disappointed Curt should be taking the heat for Curt switching.

Chief bought Marty P's car to go street racing with a Pontiac from what I understand.

Tiger P nah, never had a step dad. Had a dad who gave me my first car memories (born Dec 25 64) looking up at the top going down on a baby blue 62 Catalina convertible. Then we had a 66 Catalina station wagon that we went back east (to us) to Oklahoma where he was from 3 times. Totaled it 3 times (once by me, 15) and had it fixed every time. First car I bought was a 69 GTO 4 speed. It was a choice between that and a 69 Bird 4 speed.
So I came by it honest. Owned 2 69 GTOs, 63 Grand Prix (very cool) And now own a 79 WS6 400 4 speed Trams Am, 42000 original miles because its way cool and the last real Pontiac car ever. Putting a Pontiac BACK in my brothers 84 Bird drag car. You know they came with engine mount holes for a real Pontiac but they changed their minds.
So many of you do not know what chevy did to Pontiac back when it mattered. Delorean had very big balls and he wanted to make Pontiac the top GM brand. 64 GTO, 1st muscle car. Banshe never happened because chevy had to have the vette as the fastest GM car. So many great Pontiac things did not happen because of Chevorlette. 3 valve SOHC cam 428. Do you know the 73-74 455 SD is just the last remnants of the engine Pontiac tried to build in 69. They did make the head. 90cc cast #96, round port with the pushrod tube, 10-1 455, RAIV valve train, aluminum intake, big Q jet, forged rods, N crank, 4 bolt main block. It became the 455SD. measly 8. whatever CR.
It would have destroyed the 70 LS6.
Not to mention the 70 SOHC 427 Hemi that chevy barely made sure seen the light of day.
That engine, its idea became the Ford Mod engine. We did it first but the politics would not let it come true.
Then you have what the powers that be were in GM did to the great Pontiac folks like Nell. They tried to push forth the brand on their own dime after the ban and got PUNISHED by GM for it. Their efforts led to the VERY first performance single intake for any of the big 4 makes. It was the Nash/Warrior intake.
Made to run on 366 RAV engines that they figured out rand better with RAIV heads. It was designed from the start to run spacers, as much as needed from the start.
Know your GM history.
And the Ford 429-460 is a better engine the the BBC. 3" mains and does not have siamessed intake runners. More room to make big power. You do know the top guy at GM went to Ford, killed the FE (became our RAV) and made their new big block with improvements over the BBC.
They made intakes for a 2x4 RAV 428, tunnel ram that was to go on the Banshee (which became the Opal GT).
Chevy robbed us. And some of you want to shove their engine in our cars and think its cool ?? Know your GM history. There is a lot more of how chevy screwed us.
Curts not a bad guy, just listened to the wrong people.

Drngcar , I'm 65 and grew up with Pontiac cars in 60s and early 70s. Live in Detroit area my whole life with family in the auto industry. I've owned a dozen or more Pontiacs, still have 2, a '68 Firebird 467stroker and a'67 GTO I've had since 1970. I remember those engines and and GM decisions.

I can be friends with people who drive and Race other brands. I can appreciate what others achieve in performance and the beauty of their cars. I can admire others talents and abilities regardless of what they work on Rambler, Hudson or Jaguar.. Your hating a Corporation and taking it out on individuals who want to race at levels that more difficult than you know. These individuals still have to the correct choices for part, machining and assembly. The parts are easier to get. The name on then valve doesn't matter as much as the ability to race at a higher level more often. A person can race at hi level with Pontiac, but the cost is higher, timing longer and fewer with the knowledge to help get there. At some point the difficulty overpowers the the name on valve cover.

Martin Caserio (a AC Spark Plug) was promoted into the Number 1 Position at Pontiac Motors. He had no business ever being selected for that position, honestly. Totally underqualified. He was the PMD "boss" that Killed all of the Performance Programs in the pipeline at PMD. General Motors Management was screwing up even in 1972-1973 time frame by selecting him.
So you have some reason for blaming the corporate structure. (But everyone screws up at some point, all you have to do is read the papers.)

Taking your frustrations out on a PY individual and his selection on future engine parts is honestly a poor decision. But don't blame that PY individual for the mistakes of others, who deserved the blame.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Tom V.

You really don't need 1,200hp (it wouldn't hurt) to run T/S in a 2,500lb car besides Curt ran twin turbos. In a Boosted application 13-17 lbs of boost is all thats needed in a 2,500 lbs car to run T/S at MOST tracks! At that boost level a Pontiac can run for a VERY long time RACING!! Hell most tracks are 1/8 mile anyways.........aint nothing!!
