All parts still for sale.

Also, I reckin the '68 Bracket Bird roller is still for sale. An in-state guy called, & said he wanted car, after looking at all the pics I sent. Said he & a friend would bring a trailer & pick it up today.

So far today, he's a no-show, and no call. I have it in the front yard, ready to load. So, if I don't hear from him by the weekend, it's back on the market. $3500 for everything but the engine/trans/converter/shifter.

Let me know if the roller is still for sale by the weekend. I have a friend who's parting out a TA and might need a new home for his driveline. Can you send pics ? I'll pm you my info if so.

I talked to the guy. He said he'll think it over, which is not what he told me, previously. So, the roller is for sale, to the first guy who pays me for it. That simplifies things for everybody.

Anybody who wants it can send me a $500 cash deposit thru a Walmart2Walmart money transfer, from their local Wal Mart to my WM, which is store #149 in Jonesboro, Louisiana. The transfer costs less than $10. That way all I have to do is drive 7 miles & pic up the cash. No hassle, & I don't have to fool with Pay Pal, checks, money orders, etc.

http://news.walmart.com/2016/10/25/w...oney-transfers

The deposit is non-refundable, since it might cause me to miss a sale, should the depositor change his mind. I think that's reasonable.

I've posted all this info here and on many other online sites. But, for those who haven't seen it, let me repeat that this car is not a good candidate for a street restoration. It is a great candidate for a low budget, footbraker, bracket racer. It don't have a title, and hasn't been registered in probably well over 30 years--maybe even 40 or more. I first bought it back in the '70's or '80's, then sold it to a Pontiac friend, who made a bracket racer out of it.

But, it does still have the dash VIN tag. So, there are several ways to get a title, if for some reason one was really wanted.

OK, here's another package offer, for the low buck guys, or somebody just lookin for a great price on a shortblock & heads. With this deal, you won't have to deal with a machine shop. Just add your bolt on parts, and make an easy 400hp or more, and 500ft lbs of torque. Choose your own cam/lifters/timing set, intake, carb, dist, etc.

Longblock, minus cam/lifters/timing set -- $2000 + shipping.

Here's what you get:

Shortblock with 500813 block, stock 455 crank, forged rods & pistons, factory oil pan.

Unported 6x-8 heads, with stainless valves, 7/16 studs, 1.52 CC roller tip rockers, poly-locks, tall chrome covers with K&N breathers.

Here's what you don't get, for this price.

Timing cover/water pump/fuel pump, pushrods, intake/carb/AC, HEI dist, starter, oil filter housing, flexplate

Engine has probably 2-3 street miles, or less, and zero drag strip passes.

More small parts:

(1) Mallory #4207 adjustable fuel pressure regulator, with gauge -- $50 shipped.

(2) Almost new, 1st gen Bird motor mounts. Also fits the '74 & earlier Ventura 2. These still have the warranty decals intact. Used only in my bracket bird. Has less than 3 street miles & no strip runs. -- $20 shipped, for the pair.

(3) Slightly older 1st gen mounts, off my '74 Ventura bracket car. Still in great shape. So, I assume they were put on the Ventura new, when it was set up for racing. I can post pics, if anybody is interested. -- $15 shipped, for the pair.

(4) Cast M/T valve covers. -- $100 shipped.

More engine parts:

455 long block, out of my '74 Ventura bracket car--hasn't been cranked in several years. 485428 block, forged rods & pistons, deep pan, Lunati cam(not positive which one), #215 heads. $1500 & I'll pay up to $200 of the shipping, thru Fastenal. Engine ran 7.30's on our 1/8 mile track, at the car's last race. . Track closed & I sold the car as a roller.

#215 heads only -- $500 shipped

Short block complete -- $1200 & I'll pay up to $200 shipping thru Fastenal.

Short block less cam, lifters, timing cover, oil filter housing, flexplate -- $1000 & I'll pay up to $200 fastenal shipping.

Hey, just the new rods & pistons now cost over $600. Then you have a a good 455 block & crank. My opinion is that it's worth what I'm asking, just for parts. But, I suppose it's worth only matters to a buyer with the $$.

500557 engine with 6x-8 heads, complete less carb. Haven't looked inside. $400 + shipping.

3 sets of 6x-8 core heads. $200 pair + shipping

1 set of 6x-8 heads that came off a nice, running, 1st gen street vert, when the owner switched to alum heads. Haven't checked 'em out real close. But, they look real clean & have 7/16 studs. Was gonna save 'em for another pump gas 455 build. But, I need cash more than the heads, right now. -- $500 + shipping

I can take pics of any of these parts, for serious buyers.

Sold the 455 long block out of the Ventura, & the Torker 2 intake off the other 455.

Still have a complete 455 & a few other parts for sale.

(1) 455 with 500813 block, forged rods & pistons, CC 292 Magnum cam/Rhoads lifters, 6x-8 heads with stainless valves, CC 1.52 roller tip rockers, new-in-the-box Pro Comp single plane intake, 750 vac Holley, factory HEI with DUI cap/coil/rotor & MSD rev limiter module, almost new Summit mini starter. Built for a bracket car, but never made it to the track.

Price picked up here: $3000

Less intake & carb $2800.

Short block only: $2000

(2) 9" converter. Don't know brand. Looks almost new. It came in the '69 Tempest 350HO Stocker I bought. I assume it's a decent brand & not a cheap Ebay model. Put it in my bracket '68 Bird. Never got to race it. It would easily powerbrake to 2000 rpm. So I assume it has a flash stall of at least 3000. Will take $300. If anybody is interested, I can take pics & check closer for some ID info.

(3) Still have a long tail TH400, out of my bracket Ventura, the short tail out of my '68 bracket Bird, and another short tail I traded for, which I'll call a clean core.

(4) Have 2 sets of core 6x-8 heads, one clean set off a running '69 Bird vert, and I'll also sell the 6x-8 heads off my 455, for $800.

(4) Core '77 model 350, with 6x-4 heads--no carb. Will sell it, along with the TH350 that was bolted to it for $500.

(5) New Summit mini starter: $150 shipped to the lower 48.

(6) Other stuff too. Might reduce price on combining some of these items, picked up here.

(7) Will also reduce price if picked up by the end of January.

So, anybody live close enuff to North Louisiana to be interested in any of this stuff ?

Here are a couple of pics TJ took today, of the 455, without the intake/carb.

I've been pumping oil thru it occasionally, with a 1/2" drill, @ 90° intervals of crank rotation.
