Default Transmission yoke

Hi everyone. I pulled the driveshaft on my '71 GTO with a turbo 400 trans. today, and measured the transmission yoke. It's 5.5 inches long. Also appears that it was only on the output shaft about 2 inches. I don't think this is healthy at all. I'm not comfortable with it. I'm talking with a member re. what he might have. I see that some yokes come in a 6.75 inch length. This might be what I need. It would give me another 1.25 inches on the output shaft, Carmine.

When I sell my Turbo 400 transmission and 400 engine from my GT-37 I will measure how far the yoke goes into the transmission unless you get the answer sooner.

Thank you. I would appreciate that. If nothing else, for reference, Carmine.
