We've been kicking around the idea of selling our project car. Here's the thread pertaining to it.
http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=789093 We found some rust in the rear frame rails over the weekend and have pretty much decided to let this one go. My question is whats the best avenue for this? I know the market for the big cars is somewhat limited and not sure where to start first. The car is basically all disassembled at this point save for a few things. Engine is currently at the machine shop getting a 30 over bore, new pistons, checking/cleaning the rods, polishing the crank, etc. I may keep the engine/trans and keep it for another car or sell them individually. It has a lot of really good parts and a clean and clear title in my name. Having a 2.5 year old and a second one on the way (he arrives in July!) we just don't have the time to invest in putting it back right. Sell as a package? Part it out? Another avenue? Thanks for the thoughts in advance. |

im very sorry to hear about all the stuff but happy about a new kid! congrats. I say get rid of it as a whole. you may lose out on some cash but the damn headache of parts here and there isnt worth the couple bucks.

How bad is the rust? Are there holes, is it in a place where it causes structural problems? (for instance if the rust is where it affects suspension mounts, or if it's in the frame rails under the trunk floor where it's less of an issue.)

Yes, holes in each side of the frame rails behind the rear axle.

It will need to be fixed, but if the rust holes are behind the axle at least you don't have to worry about the suspension mounts coming loose. I'd say try to sell it all as a complete package.

I doubt you will get the cost of the engine rebuild out of the whole thing if you include it with the Pkg. I would either keep or sell that separate.
