Not illegal but a recognized health hazard. Apparently still some things that are considered critical to plate with cadmium vs. zinc from what I once read.

Many have quit using cad, still some platers offering it around the country. I sent my stuff to Colorado Platers.

Hard for me to be sure and not here to check, but reviewing my pix, my hook seems only to have a raised ridge along each edge, no "valley" down the center between the edges.

b-man's has what looks like a shallow valley vs. Rich's has the deeper valley.

OMT's original pic is not real sharp, but might be the flat style like mine with the raised ridge along the edges. OMT, can you check or get a better pic?

I'll check again when mine comes back. Andre suggested two original styles, will be interesting to learn which two he has seen.
