Bob - Well, at least the car is in the right hands now at Darrell's. It dumbfounds me how careless people can be with other people's stuff while getting paid for it. It's going to be flat-out gorgeous when it is done (soon - right?).

Damn Bob, saw these pics of the dash when you texted them but seeing them on the screen makes them far worse.
I've had people who hated me treat my stuff better!

Please take it somewhere else. This thread isn't the place, no offense intended.

The dash is torn down and I am on the hunt for a couple "Unicorns". I need new switches for the power door locks and the electric rear window defogger. If anyone can help I would be most appreciative.

A guy does make the Decals. Not sure your going that route. The defog switches are hard to find. Is the defogger same as a 77? 78 there was a change. I have the bulletin. And a mint 78 style, dongman.

Thanks, but "78 is different. The switch I have has a great face, but it is burned up as can be seen on the back side.

Thanks for your encouraging words HFR.
Well, the dash tear down went OK, and it cleaned up pretty well. Still a lot of work to do, but there is no turning back now. In addition to the switches in the earlier post, I am also looking for a hand full of the red and green wire management clips that hold the harness in place behind the dash. A picture or two is below and any help is appreciated. The stampings behind the dash above the glovebox are interesting, but I am confused on how to interpret them. The layout is pretty straight forward, but why there are marks after three different months is confusing. The car is a late December 1971 build. There is also yellow wax pencil marks on the back and a stamp on the front on the glovebox rail. Here's a few pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Bob, I don't know what signifies the dots (Revisions to the die maybe. Each dot refers to the week.). The 7144 is the lot batching to your car. If you had the build sheet, it would have been written on there. Other pieces that were added down the line, such as the nose, would have had that same number.

Check out this unicorn. I took this off a 70 Esprit with the rear electric window defrost.
I noticed this switch says REAR and DEFOG, and it has an indicator light beside it on the dash, that is powered from the dash light harness. Can anyone confirm if this is a 70 only unicorn part??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'd say not '70. More like '80 or '81.

I don't recall ever noticing one like that with the little picture beside the switch, and corresponding cutout on the accessory cover...
