My GP is the "mother of all exhaust leaks": I've just discovered my third cracked RH exhaust manifold.
I'd like to try a short tubular steel header and see if I can get past this and on to something else. Anyone have a recommendation or a favorite for an inexpensive header for light driving (not Super high performance) use? Thanks in advance - K

I have the cheap summit racing 2nd gen F body headers on my '66. It's pretty snug around the passenger A arm and the steering box but fit.

Ram air restorations ceramic coated cast headers never leak. i mean ever. lol they use steel gaskets to seal and the mounts are super thick, because, well, they are cast iron. bahahahahahaha. Seriously though, they are fantastic. required a mini starter but otherwise great

I wonder why your manifolds keep cracking? Seems unusual to me.

I missed the "inexpensive" comment. My bad. Summit headers have 3/8" flange I think. Is your exhaust really tight? Is there lots of movement for the motor to twist? I too am curious about the cracking manifolds

They're bolted on tight at the flange. Not a ton of room for the engine to twist around.

I have found in the past if the exhaust system isolators are too loose and bouncy it has an effect on the manifold. Just a thought.

My system is pretty light. Headers, cherry bomb header glass packs, turn downs. Won't be a lot of flex
