R12 is a more efficient refrigerant than 134A.

R12 is a better refrigerant for cooling than the ozone friendly R134a. Also, the A6 compressor is less efficient than the lighter weight Sanden styled rotary compressor.

I can't complain about the cooling capability of R134a systems, as all my vehicles have done just fine in the sweltering heat and humidity found in South Florida between April and November. I'm hoping the new cooling system in my TA works like the other do as well.

Just for anyone thinking of using the classic auto racing system. I've had it installed in my car for the past 2 years and couldn't be more happy. Easy install, although I didn't do it myself. The shop that installed it said it was a well designed and just about a drop in system. It cools very well and I really don't mind the looks under the hood. In fact, I'd say most people that look under the hood at the local cruise nights haven't a clue it's not original. Just us crazy people that live and breath Pontiacs know it's aftermarket.

Yes auto air. I don't know how racing got in there. Very strange.

Yes Larry us black T top cars in Texas might have to have AC on them again! A Sanden compressor just for plug change clearance is sure something I've been looking at. I have extra rotary compressor brackets I picked up but never heard much good about them.
