Default 1963 Catalina 15 Inch wheel and tire sizes.

Just picked up a 63 Cat, has all of the orig 14 inch steel wheels but i would like to put 15x7 inch steel wheels on it. What tire sizes will fit front and rear without any issues thnx. The car is factory black with the burgundy tri tone ventura interior, 389 2 barrel 4 speed hydramatic.

Are you sure it has the 4 speed hydro?Cats and GPs got the slimjim trans?The 15in wheels show up on ebay from time to time.They are 5 on 5 bolt pattern.Also be aware if the car is stock the the drivers side lugs are LH and the pass side are RH.Many lugs are broken off by unaware people with with a impact gun.Tom

Thnx for the info Tom, i believe you are correct on the trans, and i was aware about the lugs they are cleary marked.

225/75/15 should fit. I'll check mine tomorrow.

You can use 15" wheels from many later model GM full size cars (1971-1976 for sure, with some makes and years newer than that.) They should be plentiful and cheap, but they won't have provisions for the original style dog dish hubcaps that would have been used in 1963 on a 15" wheel.
