I recently bought a 69 Firebird safeguard speedometer and was poking around the web for schematics. I came across the option breakdown for all 69's in the book The Definitive Firebird & Trans Am Guide 1967-1969. According to this book, there were only 285 69 Firebirds with this option (442/U15).

Does anyone have an opinion on the accuracy of these numbers? The reason I ask is this option was only $11.59.

It also lists exhaust extensions (482/N22) on 11 cars. Anyone ever heard of Option 482?

Rocky Rotella did all the research using information from PHS. I assume much is correct but I'm sure there are some errors. One of those errors were related to the 68 V8's with manual Transmissions and installed AC. He states in his book that there were none from the factory. However I know he received proof from some owners that there were some early 68's V8 Manuals that did before the bulletin came out in Nov 67 but it is not in the book. Also Appendix B does not include the breakdown number of the 400 HO. He states about it in chapter 2 but does not include a breakdown,

So It is all good information but he left out some important detail that he got during his research.

I didn't realize the book also lists 67 and 68 data. Super jealous that there's published production data on 68 HO converts. I'm dying to know the breakdown of 69 350HO converts. I ordered the book as it seems to be a must have.
