Very possible. Unlike today's computer inventory, and just in time assembly line inventory, I'm sure an occasional extra part was stuck on a car
I remember a local Chevy truck dealer getting a GMC tailgate on a brand new Chev. And outside wrong color mirrors on a car.

Dad ordered a new Buick in 71, arrived with a clock option that wasn't on the window sticker.

Was the sport stripe option in 70 GTO - LeMans available because they just ordered too many Judge stripes in 69 ?

Or maybe the assembly line worker just thought . . . .hell that car needs rocker trim
