1965gp, I believe I quoted RocktimusPryme and his comments, not yours.
I also only attend Norwalk once a year, the Pontiac Nationals is the only event I have ever attended at Norwalk. I don't even particularly like drag racing, but there is no Pontiac race and show held at a dirt track so I have to attend a drag strip. I've never spoken to Bill Bader or any of the top management at Norwalk so I obviously wouldn't know him from Adam, nor would he know me. I do know the promoters of the Pontiac Nationals (Pete and Andrea Woodruff) because I was a vendor for 7 years and had to deal with them directly. I really haven't paid much attention to your posts because you seem a little more level headed than the majority that only want foot traffic at the majority of the facility. I have no intention of singling you out so rest easy

You did indeed quote me, though you managed to misunderstand or misrepresent everything I said in impressive fashion.

Funny how this post went from complaining about personal scooters for the handicap and or fat & lazy at car shows, to complaining about golf cars at Norwalk!
I am fortunate I can walk on my own for as long as I want without a scooter and I am fortunate I can afford to rent a golf cart at Norwalk to haul my parts out of the swapmeet. Others are not so fortunate but happy to see them supporting the hobby on their mobility scooters. |

The whole subject from the beginning had very little merit because as was explained early on, just by looking at someone and assuming what their circumstances are, is poor way to differentiate facts from opinions. Take a poll if you want, and see how many people are worried about scooter carts etc. at a motorsports event. The cross section displayed here is probably a good indicator that most people aren't terribly concerned with it. Have fun kicking that horse...………...

This is the first time I have been described as level headed!!
I have to say I appreciate that! On the topic we aren’t going to solve it here. I think we can all agree to disagree. We have different opinions and that’s not the worst thing. I think this got focused on Norwalk because a lot of us go there. Like others- that’s the only track event I go to. Other events could be better or worse- I have no idea. It’s definitely not a deal breaker for me. I will continue to fly up from TX each year. |

One more thing- I don’t think any of us meant to discriminate against anyone needing a scooter to enjoy the event. I would much rather more people attend and enjoy the event- however they are capable.
We tried to get my grandfather to use a scooter but instead he decided to quit going to the shows. He would have enjoyed it but we never could convince him to get one. We missed out on about 8 years of events together that we didn’t need to. I don’t want to give the impression anyone on a scooter isn’t wanted at a show. |

I passed constructive input from this and otherthreads to Andi and Pete. Not sure I’ll hear back but did pose a solution to them to make a growing show even more enjoyable.
Peace out!

If I were running an event (or business) that I’m trying to grow I would accept any and all constructive criticism to help make it better for all. This goes for Rocks original post about the SRNs. I have been there too and felt it wasn’t as bad probably due to the size of the venue and being a show only.

Nope, just laughing at a couple of people trying to make a huge issue out of next to nothing. Reminds me of the huge controversy of which restroom someone is going to use, a couple years ago, kinda like trophies for losers which has already been mentioned...………...LMAO I present facts when I discuss something, others like to argue with their opinions with nothing to back it up. Nice try, the trophy's in the mail. |

Like I mentioned before, golf carts and other modes of transportation are needed there since there is so much to see in a short amount of time. We dont need a few cry babies complaining just to have them taken away and ruining it for the rest of us. This thread was about scooters at car shows and you changed it to golf carts at Norwalk and then felt the need to get Andi and Pete involved. So thats my beef. |

I’m sorry did I do something wrong by suggesting a solution or improvement to a promoter? I think not. I can see I need to set another ignore up. Relax newbie.

OK, whether it be bicycles, scooters, golf carts, or whatever; since people are involved, there will be abuse. HOWEVER, as others have mentioned, one cannot diagnose by looking if some need the help. I do not mind those that need the help (glad they are getting out and about), have sympathy for those that cheat, and can still enjoy the show if pets (other than service dogs) are not allowed.
Had one customer with a pet monkey. The monkey seemed to like me, and jumped all over me. The customer laughed. Needless to say, he didn't receive any discounts! Have seen dogs, cats, monkeys, ferrets, snakes, birds, etc. at the shows. Virtually all of the animals are out of their comfort zone, and are thus unpredictable. And of course, none of the pet owners will believe THEIR pet will cause a problem. If you ever witness a dog fight between a Great Dane and a Doberman in the midst of a crowd of people, cars, vendors, etc., you will know what I mean. Have yet to see a service dog that was not more well-behaved than most of the people. Service dogs are certainly welcome. And yes, I have had pets (dogs and cats) my entire life, but the pets stay at home, where THEY are comfortable. Jon.
