Fox News 1968 GTO barn find ...delvered in 69
Well optioned 1968 GTO 4-speed with 69 Blue paint code, delivered way late in 69. Engine...400 HO.

Just says it was delivered late in the year (1968) but not when.
"late" could mean June or July or August 68 Windward Blue was a special spring color offered by Pontiac in 1968. Thats also why it has a Chrome -endura delete- Bumper. Sounds like a ton of misinformation and misunderstanding. Plus total lack of substantiating data. Proof's in the Pudding -- who's got the Pudding ? I want to see it 15k was a nice buy though , from the 3 pictures. 1 of a Kind Car predates Color - Modern Marvel ! Its Priceless ! |

Come to think of it .... something wrong with that weight 5.8 ounces for a DIE-CAST 1/18 scale car is way too light ... 1/18 is larger than the typical old 1/24 scale plastic models we built as a kid.
Either their scale is wrong, or their weight is wrong, or it's not die cast metal. Just checked some others like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Auto-World-Po...le+diecast+gto Weight is more like 3+ pounds ... sounds more like it. Must be a misprint on the 68 ... or it's tiny, or made of plastic. Sorry for the hyjack ... back to the topic. |

I just bought one, I'll post a review when it gets here.
I had to get it, first of all, like you said, quite hard to find 68's, and this one is the same color as mine. And I feel it will be a motivator to keep me working to finish mine. Maybe if they aren't too snooty to visit this thread, the RA guys will see it

Looks like it’s based off the old Ertl casting. I might have to get one since it looks a lot like my car.

At a glance
I usually look for vent/wing windows on the doors to tell if its a 68 or 69 . ooops I'd definitely buy one if i had a 68. You can disassemble them and paint interior//exterior any colors you want. They don't give a good view of rear bumper - so its probably going to be just a little bit iffy back there coming off a 69 rehash. Wouldn't be too hard to come up with a chrome piece to glue in as a faux divider bar for the vent windows. |

1970 Atoll Blue is awesome. Windward Blue desn't seem special paint to me.
Limelight Green Metallic is ecial paint in 1969, and looks it! |

Yes its REALLY close to 69 Carousel Red
But evidently just a touch different . Not the same mixing formula / stock number. iirc Still some decent original color on rear body panel lip and the bumper scallop sections of quarter panel. Chrome Bumper GTO btw This PMD Plant TrimTag has color stock number listed. [ 99539 ] Examples from Baltimore and Arlington do not have it listed on Trim Tag. |
