Last count was between 75 and 80. The cars that I owned that weren't Pontiacs is way easier, 1962 VW beetle, (at one time I wanted a dune buggy), and a 91 Z24 Cavalier.
The oldest Pontiac I owned was a 56 Star Chief, and the newest is the 2008 Pontiac Vibe. I'm not counting any cars that I bought and sold to make money, none of them were ever considered for drivers. If it wasn't a Pontiac, it wasn't in my driveway or garage, and I sure as hell wasn't going to drive it. I've owned a few trucks and Jeeps. 4 of my Jeeps were swapped to Pontiac engines. First Pontiac was in 1969, a 1960 4 door Ventura with a 389, Tri Power 318 HP, automatic. Ordered from the factory with Tri Power, I bought it from the original owner, 1 owner car. Currently all my cars are still Pontiacs, 1973 T/A, (project car I need to sell), 1984 GP (project car I need to get my ass in gear and do), 1999 GP (daily driver), 2005 GTO (the first new car I ever owned, fair weather daily driver), 2008 Pontiac Vibe (wife's car bought new, and currently has 275,000 miles on it). We only drive Pontiacs. My father worked as a mechanic at the local Pontiac dealer as did my grandfather on my mothers side, so they both drove Pontiacs and I was exposed to Pontiacs all my life. As soon as I could read magazines I was a Pontiac fan, scanning the car magazines for features on Pontiacs. The Pontiaddict Tee shirts I designed and sold for 7 years pretty well reflects my lifestyle as far back as I remember. The logo in the upper left side is my profile picture, taken from the shirt. The shirts were a result of me seeing a need for Pontiac shirts with attitude, 15 styles in all, over 7 years selling them at Pontiac events. My first job on Co-op was working at the local Pontiac dealer. If you look at the 69 GP SJ race car in the third signature picture you can see the service station/garage I operated during the mid 70s until 1982. We specialized in Pontiacs. In the picture is a 68 GTO, 69 GTO, 71 Grand Safari SW, Way out back was a really rough 1962, red Super Duty Catalina. Most all the aluminum components were replaced with steel at that time, except the aluminum rear bumper was still intact. Car at one time was a local legend and after blowing up a bunch of Pontiacs it ended up with a 427 BBC in it. In the picture it had a 400 2 bbl with a T 400. I never found out where the front clip went, it could have been wrecked at some point. Racing was only Pontiacs and only on a dirt track. First and second car was a partnership with another guy, 61 bubble top Catalina, second car was a 61 bubble top Ventura. When the guy sold the second car he sold a bunch of my parts with the car. The partnership dissolved after I sued him for loss of my parts. I built the cars and engines, and he drove the cars, he sucked as a driver, 3 years and never even won a heat race. Afterwards I built my own cars, and engines, and drove them myself. First night with the 67 GTO (in the middle picture) I won my first heat race, first night driving ever. Ran that car for 2 years won 11 times with it. Built the 69 GP with 428 and ran it for 3 years with less success, only 1 race in 3 years. I sponsored and built the engines for quite a few dirt track Pontiacs, and the guys did quite well with them. Lots of wins over 5 years while I was actively sponsoring those guys. |

I will try to keep it short but this has been a big part of my life.... Started with my grandfather being a Pontiac guy. That trickled down to my dad being a GTO fan. He bought my mom a 68 Firebird in the early 70’s and sold it to buy the 70 LeMans In 1975 that I came home from the hospital in. That’s where it came from for me. My high school project was a 65 Grand Prix and my daily was the 70 LeMans which I still drive. My dad always liked having multiple cars and our collection just kind of kept growing after I got out of college.
Our current list of cars (Pontiacs only - we eventually branched out): 1926 Oakland 4 dr 1940 Pontiac 2 dr sedan (Grandfathers car) 1957 Chieftain 2dr Tri Power 1957 Bonneville Tri Power 1960 Catalina Safari 1964 Catalina Convertible project 1965 Grand Prix 1966 GTO post 1968 LeMans convertible 1969 Trans Am (clone) 1970 GTO hardtop 1970 GTO convertible 1970 LeMans (first car) 1970 Catalina 2dr project 1971 GTO 1972 Trans Am (clone/pro touring car) 1972 Luxury LeMans 1979 Bandit Trans Am 1979 10th Anniv TA 1984 15th Anniv TA 1985 Parisienne 1986 Fiero 1989 20th Anniv turbo TA 1991 Trans Am convertible 1994 25th Anniv TA 1995 Firehawk 1997 WS6 Formula convertible 1999 30th Anniv TA 2002 Firehawk 2004 GTO Most are in pretty nice shape except for the ones that are noted as projects |

My dad worked on anything mechanical. He started out working on tanks and military trucks after WWII at Fort Bragg, NC. After he left Fort Bragg, he became a maintenance man repairing big shears, punch presses, etc. He also had a garage where he worked part time for the public, and sold cars.
We had a variety of different cars growing up, but he preferred Pontiac, Cadillac, and Ford products. He often bought a car, made some repairs, and sold it. Among his favorite cars was a 65 2+2 hardtop with a 421 tripower automatic. His brother, my uncle, had a 64 GTO tripower he bought new. He totalled it trying to beat a train through a crossing. I don't remember the car well, but dad bought a 62 Grand Prix 4-spd tripower car that he didn't have long because mom didn't like driving a manual tranny car, especially without a/c. My first big impression of a Pontiac was when I saw a white 71 Trans Am that appeared to be mostly stock outrun a heavily modified Nova around 1971 or 1972. There was a local game room that was right beside a drive in with girls on roller skates that brought your order to the car. It was on a four lane road. Cars would circle the drive in looking for a street race, and after lining one up would go to the median crossover and race to the first exit, which was a little more than 1/8 mile. There was a young guy with a heavily modified Nova that had outrun pretty much everybody he raced. He saw the T/A at the drivein and challenged it. The T/A accepted and pulled a holeshot on the Nova and won easily. What the kid in the Nova didn't know was the guy bracket raced the T/A. It was an automatic with no a/c, not sure if it had 3.42s or 3.73s, headers, and a few minor tweaks to increase the grunt. He had been racing earlier that day and had a set of sticky recap tires on the rear to help with his launches. It sounded awesome. Whereas the Nova shook and barely idled, this car would sit and idle with a throaty rumble with no problem. That is when I decided I was going to own an early Trans Am. A few years later, the 73s came out and I fell in love with the red ones. I ended up owning the 71 that I saw street race about 15 years later. The original motor was long gone and it had been rode hard and put up wet, so I junked it out. By that time, it had a L88 cowl hood, had been involved in several accidents, and had been converted to a 4-spd. The only original thing left was the heads and intake. |

You guys make me feel young . I have loved Pontiacs since I was a kid. Mom always had a big wagon (five kids in the family). Dad bought her a 67 firebird 400 in '69. I’m pretty much a bird gal myself, but all the trademark front ends on a lot of Pontiacs just pull you in. In my opinion they just pull you in.

I currently own three. I've owned as many as four at once. I've had five all together.
68 GTO I bought when I was 17 96 WS6 Trans Am I bought out of college G6 I bought for my wife (long since sold, thankfully. We both hated that car) G8 for my commuter car Sold WS6...still miss that car Just bought a rusty 79 Trans Am, and am playing with that for a little while. I originally fell in love with Fiero's when they came out. I know....but I was five or six when I started noticing them. That was the start of Pontiacs for me. After Smokey and the Bandit, I was locked in for life.

I am very impressed with the amount of Pontiacs you all have had or still have. And such a selection very cool! Even the first gen Mustang in the garage picture. That was almost my first car. Cherry red. But I wound up with a cherry red 68 AMX instead. I personally didn’t own my first Pontiac until I got married in 1981 and it was my 1978 firebird Redbird. One I should have kept. It was just like the skybird but two tone red. And yes I had a CB radio in it lol.

My Dad grew up driving T/A's and Corvettes, while my Mom had Irocs and 300ZX's, she had a Yellow Bird too.
I grew up looking at the old pictures of their cars, and as soon as I was old enough I bought my first car, which was an 86 Monte Carlos SS. Soon after, I bought my 71 T/A that I've now owned for 7 years. I bought my 81 T/A 4 years ago. My father just bought a 70 GTO that we're building now, so the tradition is alive and well! He also has a 69 Camaro that we've restored, which he's had for 7 years. I've had a few other Pontiacs sprinkled in over the years: 72 T/A (Where my screen name came from originally. The car was smoked) 72 T/A (another one) 79 T/A SE 79 T/A Solar gold 79 Firebird 2000 WS6 T/A

My love of Pontiac's started as an 11 year old when my friends Dad had done some work to his 63 GP. He said you boys want to go for a ride? Sure! Up until then I had only ridden in 6 Cylinder Chevy wagons. He floored the GP getting on the highway and I couldn't believe the power that thing had! I was hooked. At 17 I got elected to drive the tow car at the figure 8 races because I could drive a stick. The tow car was a 1968 GTO convertible. Yes, in 1973 people would tow car trailers with these type of cars. I later owned this car and loved it.
1968 GTO 70 GTO 70 GTO 70 GTO 70 T/A 65 Catalina 2 dr sedan 70 Lemans Sport 64 Bonneville 70 Tempest Still have. 72 Lemans 72 GTO 455HO M22 75 T/A Still have.

Fired up, I am 42 now- I have been working on these cars as long as I can remember. It’s become a great hobby that my dad and I get to do together. Some of these cars we have had for over 40 years. I can remember riding to pre-school in the 70 LeMans I later drove in high school and then later restored. Ironically I can remember high school kids coming over trying to buy that car when I was in elementary school, I’m fortunate that my dad never gave in!

I was bitten by the Pontiac bug before I was even born. Dad's first car is a 1972 LeMans Sport bought down in the same area in VA where we're living now. Back then, he lived up in MI. He kept tweaking that car and put a lot of money into it to make it a strip car. Compression is around 12:1, and he can only run avgas in it! It's still around, waiting for us to get it back into fighting shape. It's not far off, to tell the truth.
He and mom also had an early 90's GP GTP in Electric Blue. They also had a Transport in a similar color. Over the years, Dad's also accumulated a decent-sized collection of Pontiacs. They're all in need of some work, but we're planning to get them there! Mainly 1969-1972 A-bodies, with a few firebirds sprinkled in. Mom currently has a 2001 GP GTP. Dad's also working on a '68 Firebird convertible for her. She wants to get a 2008 G8 GXP sometime later, so I'd say she's got a bit of "the sickness" too! My first car was a 1998 GP. It was a family project, as it needed some work to get "up to snuff." Eventually, being a MI car, it got too far rotted out to keep driving it, so we got my second car, a 2001 GP that was wrecked. The '98 donated a BUNCH of parts to get that thing running again, and it's still running today. I just have to get a couple of issues diagnosed and get pointed in the right direction to fix them. Then came my current project: a triple black 1971 GT-37. We didn't even know what it was when we picked it up until I found a "GT-37" badge along with the parts! A PHS showed it as a real GT-37. Once the GT-37's done, I want to pick up a 70-72 Lemans to turn into a 1970 GTO "Superclone", and pick up either a third-gen or late fourth-gen Firebird to build into a drift/race car. As far as I can tell, that Pontiaddiction isn't gonna go away anytime soon!

My love for Pontiac began back in 1975 when I was 6 years old and my dad came home with a carousel red Judge convertible that he bought from his supervisor at work. He only kept the car for one summer, but long enough to leave a lifelong impression on me.
To date, I have only had 3 Pontiacs: 1977 Firebird, 400, 4 speed, Hurst T-Tops. I sure wish I had kept that one. 2002 Grand Prix GT. Retired it in 2013. A victim of Wisconsin road salt. 1969 LeMans convertible, cloned into a replica of my Dad's Judge. This is my current toy and I will likely have it forever. A future addition will be a 1977 Trans am Bandit when time/money/garage space allow.

I still remember back in the fall of 1969 at the ripe old age of 15...
My dad (as mentioned on my earlier post on this thread) brought home the first Pontiac Trans Am ever to get to my hometown. The Buick/Pontiac/GMC dealership he sold for never got a '69 Trans Am, but they did get a '70 right at the start of the model year. It was Lucy Blue with a blue interior with Ram Air (can't remember if it was a III or a IV) and a 4spd. As the leading salesman at the dealership - it was his demonstrator for the first 2 weeks it was there. Dad always came home for lunch and I lived close enough to the high school that I did too. I made sure to eat real fast so I could spend the balance of my lunch hour in the drivers seat of that TA - playing my favorite radio station and "shifting gears" while the car sat still.... I need to find a '70 Lucy Blue TA some day and bring it home. It'll bring back memories of my youth and my dad. |

There was a guy down the road from me that had a red bird new, and my wife had a good friend in HS that got a new blue bird for a birthday present. As far as Fiero's, I loved the one we had. It was an '85, 5speed. Ran great and handled great. Seems to me it had a bit of front end drift at high speeds though. My sister in law bought one brand new in 84 and she had at least 3 motors put into it. But, she drove over 100 miles a day to commute to work. I would love to have an indy pace car fiero. My sister bought a 4th gen formula hardtop with a 6 speed new. I guess the theres a little Pontiac in some other family members as well.

There were always cars around growing up...my father would herd any $50 piece of junk to work and do what it took to keep them running. My grandfather raced dirt track cars, so I guess that is where the go-fast part of me comes from. I suppose my interest in Pontiacs comes down to Dad's stories about his '58 tri-power Chieftain, and a neighbor's '67 GTO. My first cars were Buicks and I am still solidly a Buick-guy.
My '64 GTO is the only Pontiac I have ever owned. |

First Pontiac was a 77 Trans am 455 4spd. It looked like hell but was pretty fast. Since then 1981 Trans am, 1979 Grand Lemans 4 door 301 with factory 4 speed. That ended up with the 400 from the 77 Trans am in it, 1979 Grand Prix race car that I bought as a roller and put the 400 into. I think a member on here has it now, 2002 Trans am ws6, 2005 GTO, 1992 Firebird Formula.
Our family mostly had Oldsmobiles with a couple of Buicks and Pontiacs mixed in. My father's first new car was a 1959 Catalina with the tri power. Then he bought a 1963 Tempest convertible for a little while after.
