Those are cool I like that plane, there’s a club here that has competition races flying their gas engine planes and anything aviation I’d like to find a plane pedal car that is affordable they are cool but very hard to find and are pricey.

LOL! The last time I tried to fly one of those teather planes it went straight up then straight down smashing into pieces on the street. I probably was about 12 when that happen. I went to the hobby store, bought the one you see and didn't want to wreck another one so that is why it looks like its new, because it is.

I used to rationalize my plastic model/diecast collection by thinking it took less storage space than the real thing. Now I am not so sure

During the 90's I bought way too many racing diecast cars. These days I randomly give them to my 4 year old grandson. Seeing his smile is better than than any financial profit I thought I would get from them.

I have more than I pictured, but I’m not a “serious” collector where everything must stay in its package or box, I display my stuff. I think the only collectible I have that I did not open is my BURT Reynolds action figure. My 4 year old Granddaughter sometimes plays with my cars on the end tables, I don’t care. I can’t take em with me when I go. Burt is kind of special to me though lol.

I don't have a photo of it, but I have one of these 1:18 scale die cast 1961 Venturas that Ertl came out with some years ago. My real car is a Bonneville, and it's a different shade of red, but this is as close as I'll ever be able to find. I do have a 1:18 die cast model of my off topic daily driver. Also have a bunch of old 1:25 scale AMT 3-in-1 plastic models of full size Pontiacs ranging from 1960 through 1968, with a few gaps.

I bought too many 1:18 scale cars over the years, have taken a few of the non-Pontiacs to Autofair and sold them. At one point, I probably had a hundred or more of these stashed in a closet.

Does anybody remember the slot cars of the late 60s and early 70s? My uncle was only about 10 years older than me, and when he was in his early 20s he would take me to a slot car track where you could race your slot car against other people. You paid to enter, and the track operator paid prizes to the winners. The track operator had multiple tracks set up, with different entry fees and age limits. It was a blast. If my memory is correct, it all came to an end when my uncle found a girlfriend and I had no way to get to the track.

One of the cars I raced was a white early 70s Camaro with a big white stripe like the 70-72 T/A. My uncle was a Pontiac guy, and he owned a 64 GTO tripower 4-spd (which he destroyed trying to beat a train across a railroad track, almost made it). I came across a box of slot car stuff when we were cleaning out my parent's place after mom passed. It's in my attic now.

I had the Cox gas powered 'rail dragster'. I loved that thing, never really got it to run that much or that great but still had fun with it. We nailed a string into the street with a cut nail and the car had loops on the undercarriage that it rode on. I also had a german wwII Cox airplane. It had strings that attached to the wingtip and you flew it in a circle. Again, never really got it working right but loved the thing. I ended up just hanging it from my ceiling.

To the initial question, I dont really collect them now, if im out and see something that is a trans am I will get it. I will have to check out TS, im heading there today. A couple of years ago they had an early trans am that I picked up. I am the youngest of 4 boys, and between us we literally had every hot wheel made. I had a couple of the old brown grocery bags full of them at one time. Dad had his basement cleaned out and they all disappeared!

Got this one at Toys r Us 4 or 5 years ago. The cars are hot wheels size and its in a round tin that looks like a movie case.

Looks to be 54 sprint cars there, I guess someone else besides me enjoys sprint car racing. Do you just collect the cars, or do you also attend the races?
