Looks great !! Yah know....10 years ago ,you probably Nevah would have noticed the gaps.....but with all these 250,000.00 builds on these “Car Shows “ ...everybody is educated......but that stuff comes at a cost. It’s time to enjoy it now !

Glad you got it back but I hope you won't always be looking at the couple of things you know are not right. I know I can become fixated on little things like that. Others never notice but I can't look without my eyes being drawn to those things.

Yea good point. No reason to focus on a potential negative.

I would detail the car to catch any compound the shop missed and enjoy it.

If it wasn’t the gaps it would be something else. You can always find something if you look hard enough. I doubt anyone else will ever notice.

+1. A friend of mine was telling me a few years ago that he needed to get his bumpers re-chromed. The next time I saw his car, they looked great and I told him "that place did a great job - that looks like a show car." He replied that he hadn't brought them in yet. They had flaws that only he could see.

And the hedge trimmer up above. Frankly, take that entire open shelf down and replace it with a closed cabinet. Then put a nice thick cover on the car just in case something does bump into it. Maybe a movers blanket on top of the cover in high risk areas (once paint is cured).

Door skin, new rear quarter, new vinyl roof, endura nose smoothed, new driver rear inner fender and whole car respray.

The shelf is 4 feet from the car. I believe I'll just leave it like it is.

Speaking of that shelf, I just had a paint cabinet fall off my wall and dent the trunk on my '68. Never occurred to me that it could happen. It fell off the wall, bounced off a tire I had underneath it and hit the trunk. It was about 4 feet from my car. If I hadn't had a moving blanket over it, it would have been much worse.
By the way, the car looks great from what I can see!

Everything but the spray on the parts of the car not affected by the wreck.

I agree. WAAAAY too many potential 'bombs' in that garage waiting to come crashing down on that car, IMO. Car looks stunning!
