Its worse than that in So Cal because its all the Mojave. Populations like that just aren't supposed to live in the desert. Ive done it, lived in Socal and Vegas for like a decade. The 300 days of sunshine a year is great. That said, its really depressing to watch Lake Mead get lower every year.

My daughter just moved to California, If you go In Starbucks they have signs on their doors that Coffee my cause cancer. I agree with Sidponcho Over population goes a long way to unhealthy environment , More waste. water use, more cars on the road, more disease. Speaking of disease its been on the rise of late. Diseases like TB, Measles, and Chickenpox, have all comeback in a big way which we had almost been down to none. No more screening of new people coming into our country though our southern border states doesn't help the situation much ether.

We have to have it on any lawnmower parts we sell mail order to California, blades included. But no warning the blade may cut a body part while rotating!

I am elsewhere also, but geography is no longer a barrier when it comes to the spread of stupidity, e.g. The building committee in our kids' school (of which I am a member) worked for a couple of years to get A/C for the classrooms. We finally got them installed last month, just in time for warm weather. My wife just told me the teacher in my daughter's class refuses to use it because of that stupid Prop 65 sticker...

I am MA, so we are not that far behind CA... sadly...

It's sad what is going on in CA and some other parts of the country . CA is such a beautiful state, with out of touch law makers just playing to their base and ignoring the rest of the people in their state who pay most of the bills and taxes. Now free heath care is coming to all who go there. So the only other choice is to leave the state. That's sad to me to leave a place you grew up in because you can't afford to live there any more or because you can't live with the crazy laws they put into affect. I'm looking to get out of New York in a few more years. $19.00 to go over a bridge (GWB) If I need to go from upstate into Queens, Brooklyn or Long Island with a car trailer it use to cost me $53.00 for one bridge then there is another one to go over. (F150 and two axle car trailer) So it's cost about $100 just in tolls without gas. A box truck or a small dump truck would cost you $103. Lots of people don't even know this. I don't know what it cost now, to go that way since I haven't had to go up that way after they raised the tolls again. My house taxes are $13000 a year. We pay for the city's MTA even though we don't have trains or buses from MTA or any that run up to the city,from were I live and I'm only 60 miles from the city. It's crazy and getting crazier by the day. This is about the norm for any east cost west cost state. Not good.

Give it ten years and the right people in control and you will start seeing legislation to limit financial mobility. Some states like NY are already making it very difficult to "prove" you no longer live in the state and shouldn't pay taxes.

As the financial migration of citizens continue and certain states start going bankrupt because of their policies and the lack of tax paying citizens to pay for them, there will be legislation suggested to penalize people for moving to lower tax states, or states that are less politically "cooperative" with the Federal Government.

Every state needs a certain percentage of the population as productive, law abiding, tax paying citizens or the system won't work. We are witnessing now the financial and political self segregation of our population, certain types of people moving to "Red" states, certain types moving to "Blue" states. Put the wrong people in power and they will try to put a stop to that to prevent the Blue states from going broke and losing political power.
