Anyone do Bird model kits? I am getting ready to do a model based on my car (after new paint job). I have a discontinued 72 Formula kit (built by other). I will have to rebuild it. I amazingly found a flat hood. There are resin parts outfits that sell quite a bit of stuff. Also amazingly, it fits perfect. I also just found last need, high back buckets.

Here is what I have found:

1970 TA model kit available everywhere. No other 70-73 years.
NO Formula kits presently sold. Expensive (when available) old ones pop up.
No stock Firebird kits either. There were, "in the day". (old 3 in 1 type kits).

My car will be a challenge, carefully take apart. I will do partial detail, plug wires, hoses, but not full tilt. Photo attached with resin hood on. I have sport mirrors for final build. Worst part is silver detailing on body after painted.

The aftermarket model parts business is big.

When we first put the shaker hood on our 04 GTO a friend sent me a link to a guy that made a hood and shaker for the model and was using my photos to sell it. I looked into him and he made all kinds of stuff

I have several 2nd gens.

MPC's early 2nd gen T/A kit is a 1971. The license plate indicates the year.

Monograms are based off a 1970.

I don't have any pics of mine at the moment, but I will post some.

Pretty cool collection! Looks like they did a model for each year 70-73. My 72 is an MPC kit. I see an unbuilt 73 Formula like yours just sold on ebay for 160.
