No think about it, the fuel curves are different and were created by Holley Calibration Engineers for each specific OEM application. Generic calibrations were still calibrated for Street use or Performance use.

Same deal with EFI Engineers and their calibrations for vehicles be it cars trucks, Sea Level, or Denver.
If you never did the job, I can see where you would be in the dark on carb calibrations and EFI Calibrations.

Lol i owned a cfm carb. He's been to the track and watched my car run and looked over his carb while it was on the car.

Fwiw i've tested multiple carbs. The best one was one Dale did for a 590ish Ford. Worked great. The carb doesn't car what name is on the valve covers! It cares about the fuel used, the rpm/ci and the intake/plenum setup

I had a 750 Dominator years ago and I sent it to Shaker455 (Jeff) here on this forum and he converted it from a 3 circuit to a two circuit as well as converted it to a 1050. I strongly recommend you shoot him a PM on your setup.

Pontiacs usually can take a larger cfm carb related to engine cid vs other makes. Tell me why?? Your turn.

I haven't experienced that. Never heard a pontiac can take a larger carb. Can you give an example or reference something stating that? Based on my personal experience and discussing carbs with others that hasn't been the case that i can tell.
Not sure what your issue is with people asking questions is. You make a post stating something most people have info to back up their post and can answer questions regarding their posts.

Pontiacs are long stroke engines compared to say a BBC of the same cid. They pull harder through the carb. At least Dale explained it to me when I asked him about it.
Called him up getting info on the one I have. Its a 1400cfm and asked if it was crazy to try it on a dyno test with my 461. Was told it may or may not work well but shurly would run like crap at part throttle.
The engine I am doing now, I am told wants a good 1150 carb. Not sure if I want to spring for it bracket racing but might. I have a 1050 3 circuit I turned into a 2 circuit. The fellas at Performance Carb and Speed tell me its the one to run. A 1150 might show a few HP more on the dyno but the car will pull better, ET better with 1050. They tell me they can get more fuel through the mid range fo me. Knew about it when I asked.
I have heard stuff about higher end Pontiac NA guys leaning out and burning pistons until they got the carb right. More fuel in the mid range. At least that is they way I understand it.

So what does anyone see for manifold vacuum? Either on the dyno or data logged during a run. Combination, rpm and carb size.
