Default This is some BS!

There was a commercial on TV about a week ago for Dove moisturizing body wash. I totally jokingly and sarcastically commented to my wife how I needed that. Now I just picked up yesterday’s mail. A small box Addressed to me-

I guess I’ll have to write small notes instead of talking out loud in my own house!
The only mailing lists I’m on are for things like Summit racing, a few automotive aftermarket suppliers and a few building material suppliers. If they tracked my internet use, it would also indicate a guy who is into cars ,tools and such. NOT moisturizing body wash!

Lol. Yeah. How could that be a coincidence though. I would be the last person to send this too. I guess big brother hasn’t figured out sarcasm yet?

It’s not your mailing lists- it’s all those ‘smart’ devices! I’ve had things like that happen to me - usually when my only smart device around is my iPhone

That’s what I own. I don’t use a PC or laptop, and I won’t allow one of those Echo dots or whatever in my home.
I’m not the overly paranoid type, but this bugs the hell out of me!

I don’t have Alexa or Google assistant either- but we do have smart TV’s. Most cases I have been traveling and have only had the phone. It is creepy to think they are listening

Ask your wife if she ordered it?

Using an Iphone and/or facebook will probably do it every time.
(they track you all the time)

My wife was there when I opened it. She was pissed. It wasn’t her. I don’t Facebook, never have. But I do use my iPhone a lot.

I've read several places which claim the FaceBerg app is in residence on iPhone, even if you don't install it, and it tracks you. A couple gave instructions on how to disable/remove it.

Look it up, shouldn't be hard to find.

We all scoffed at the thought of Orwell's telescreens. Now we willingly place them throughout our homes and carry them around.

For "Siri" to work your phone has to be listening to what you say, otherwise it wouldn't work. Just like if you have the microphone enabled on an Android phone and say "OK Google" Easy enough to disable on an Android phone.

Yes, they are listening, it's how they pay for all those "free" services.

Watched a video, in which one of the guys blurted out "Alexa, text mom to F***
Off". Well wouldn't you know it, "mom" is a super common contact name. The
comments were priceless.

I’ll let ya guys know. I’m too cheap to throw out free soap! I don’t think I’ll be as excited about it as the guys on the TV commercial were.

Ever watch the TV show called "person of interest" from a few years ago?

The entire show was based on how much you are watched and how much info is out there on you.
