Dakota Digital RTX
I'm thinking about these gauges for my '70 project. Anyone running them? Mostly want to know if they'll work with early dash bezel with the raised lips around the holes. Tech support was helpful but couldn't me a definitive answer. Assuming they will work, I'll be looking to trade my nice 70-72 gauges no A/C bezel for a minty 70-72 gauges A/C bezel. I know the gauges no A/C bezels are hard to come by and so I'd rather not hack it up.

Wood grain or engine turned? I have to look and see if I have some A/C ones, but pretty sure I only have the wood grain ones left.
My New Vintage direct fit gauges will be delivered tomorrow, and am trying to figure out the 'ring thing' too. But I believe both vendors' gauges work with all rings. Only thing I didn't like about the New Vintage gauges is that the speedo only goes to 140. I asked if I could get 160 or 180, and that is a 'yes', but it's a $325 charge for 'customization', and an 8+ week lead time. Uhg. .

'70 and early '71 are unique as far as shape where the gages are located. The holes are raised and the trim rings are different than all other years. Also, if wood grain, the grain is different like they are made of different species of wood even though its technically a decal. I'm not sure if that matters to you.

Yes, have noticed the diff 'grain' on some of the wood ones, the one I recall is even lighter in shade.
Raised stamping on the bezel face? That I didn't know, or remember, know I've had a couple of those though. Thank you! .

I was referring to the wood grain. I’m hoping I can find one, early non-RTS version. I’m just worried about cutting holes in the ones I have and tearing up the wood grain vinyl.
I considered New Vintage. Good price, and I like that they don’t have the large digital window like Dakota Digital. Ended up going with RTX because to me the layout and design looks closer to factory and can get signals from my efi ecu which should simplify wiring. Unfortunately 8-10 week wait.

I have a wood grain A/C non-RTS insert that is perfect, not a dent or scratch in the outer trim or face, though I did slightly enlarge the holes to allow for aftermarket gauges. There's still enough of a notch to allow the trim rings to install clocked correctly, and stay on.
It was a take-off from an original 70k mile car in the 80s that I've had boxed up since. I have an assortment of trim rings, except a full set of the thick rings. PM me if you're interested, and post here if you want more pics. .

Jeff,
I'm pretty sure I have a nice wood-grain dash bezel out of an early car (70-72) up in the attic. It's from an a/c car with gauges. (I also sent you an email). Let me know if you're interested. Chris Quote:
