Second...Is it possible that the cast blocks are living on borrowed time at those levels, where the billet will add some insurance? Third...Is it possible that the billet blocks are able to add strength in the bore areas, that will enable higher boost levels? Fourth...Which can be repaired easier, a cast block or a billet block? |

Do you think that is because of the skirted mains?

We ran the Boss Bird non-skirted solid cast aluminum AllPontiac block somewhere north of 3000 hp and it was pretty impressive. But there's a practical limit out there somewhere and if a person was going to spring for the $$ of a billet block, going skirted would seem to be an obvious move to raise the limits.

At my little hp level with an IA2, I had cap walk... I ran the same mains for 12 runs... after that it was done.. that was roughly 2k hp...
So if I wanted durability, why would I buy a non skirted block? If I can get ahold of the tune on current blocks with no skirts, why do I need a billet version of the same...?? My point is this, I can run a car and changed out bearing all day long.. did that in the beginning with rod bearings to find the tune.( doubt you know what I mean there) if you do, let me know .. it's called reading a dead soft bearing... You're over you head bud... best u can do is go away..kre uses the customer as a test mule... they are douchbags... |

I get the fact that you have bad blood with them, and I don’t blame you at all. You can attack me all you want, and it will only make me smile and try a little harder to throw it right back in your face. |
