No answer to my question. Based on weight and chassis design how quick and fast do you think the boss bird engine would be in the Kauffman's dragster?

What do you think?
Obviously there's a weight difference BUT a Funny Car is more aerodynamic then a Dragster....i couldn't guess.

One more question, now that the old head guy from Reher Morrison is the new head guy at BES whom has or had the better heads Reher or BES as long as you are the guy "in the know"?
Paul, I was just trying to throw you a bone with your EHTTFMF stuff.
If the ECM use BES, Langer who is the NA King that says all you need to say about them. If Tony is selling a Pontiac head his reputation is more than good. For the dollars others have spent on Pontiac heads it looks like his is a good deal. More choices is good for the hobby.
Not answering Sb question. Its a sucker move. He asks many questions, his MO.
I do not know anything about BES vs RM. Pontiacs are all I care about.

You are a heck of a guy Troy! Thanks for trying to help after doing your best to discredit me and my business over the last few years. You can stop helping, as I have a two year back log and for the last few years have sadly had to turn away more work than I've taken in.

You should care about Reher Morrison if it wasn't for them Big Chief would still be changing main bearings every pass.

Answering my question is a sucker move? You're the one that said i should've went to Tony, me asking why i thought was a reasonable question. The fact that you refuse to answer questions that relate to statements YOU have posted shows you post bs/misinformation on this board.
If i would've went to Tony, i wouldn't have save any money at all, i wouldn't have a higher flowing head, and doubt I'd be making more horsepower. Im very happy with my choice going with Dan.

I can try to answer some of the questions posted, but many will simply never be able to answer. The Boss Bird ran 1/8 mile and quarter mile in competition mode. Depended on the event and track, insurance and rules at a given track. I can say 1/8 mile was much, much easier on the car and engine. Typically running just under 200 MPH. Boss Bird was a heavy car. We simply couldn't afford the lightweight components other teams with huge budgets could run. We ran a very heavy steel bellhousing, a very heavy all fiberglass body with side windows, a 15-16 gallon fuel tank, and a 4 gallon oil tank. All that stuff and more made it heavy, unfortunately. Eric can supply an actual accurate weight, but I think it was just under 2500 lbs. The Kauffman dragster, nobody knows what it weighs other than the Kauffmans. They have never publicly posted what that car weighs. Seems like it would be nearly impossible for it to be over 2000 lbs to me. Our 60' times were never super wonderful. Again, Eric can post post our best. 1.03 seconds is close. Our engine was designed from the ground up to run a high percentage of nitro. It was not a modified alcohol engine with a splash of nitro added. So no way to speculate how it would have run on alcohol. We only ran 34-36 lbs. of boost, not the 90-110 or more lbs of boost a good alcohol engine would run. Our compression ratio was 6.1:1. They are just 2 entirely different animals. It was a great adventure and hopefully someone else will go the nitro route in the future. The All Pontiac solid aluminum cast block can take it into the high 5's IMO. In a 300" rear engine dragster, possibly mid 5's. Just a guess. (Crazy head-spinning tidbit) We had a high gear failure on the car once. Tell-Tail electronic tachometer recorded an under load maximum RPM on the engine of 11,300! All internal components stayed attached. No major engine damage.

A CF body and titanium can would have made that first 5 sec pass happen a bunch earlier, based on the number of 6.0x runs that thing seemed to make with regularity.

At the March Meet in Bakersfield last year, the #1 qualifier ran 5.632@ 249.90
Of the 16 qualified cars, 11 had engines listed. 7 were BAE Hemi, 3 were AJPE Hemi, and 1 KB Hemi. 5 had no engine type listed. So at least 10 of the 11 were billet block engines. The KB could have been a casting, possibly. Boss Bird's 5.87 ET would have put it 15th. There were 21 entries. Record of 5.52 @ 263 MPH sounds reasonable. Minimum weight is 2250 lbs. Getting 250 lbs out of our car would have been fantastic. The show stoppers were cost: Special BOP or Chevy pattern titanium bellhousing for Lenco: $6500.00 Having body made in CF VS Fiberglass was almost triple. In the neighborhood of 20K. Wasn't in the cards. Those 2 items alone would have been 150 lbs.+
