I didn’t buy- nor am I restoring it. Talked to the guy that did buy it. He said it is better than it looks. Also got all of the ram air parts with it too. I see nothing has changed on here over the last ten years with all of the armchair restoration pros on here. Most who have never restored a car in their life!

Island Boy- can you share with me the contact info for the person that bought this car? I would like to get in touch with them. I have recently restored it’s twin brother but my car is black. I would like to compare notes with them and have some questions. I know how to build RA 3 engines and built my RA 4 myself and they are different. If you can share that would be great.

I would love to see progress pictures of this car as it’s disassembled and restored. I have looked the pictures over and over on this car after island boy made his comments and I stand by what I said before.

Looks like he switched from Bench / Column Shift to Buckets with Console.
Wood Wheel and Pwr Steering , but left manual brakes.

Here is some interesting back story on that car. It was one of Blackbirds cars. He was a friend of mine and passed away unexpectedly a few years ago. I have met his brother who was responsible for settling his estate. I did not realize it at the time that this was one of Blackbirds cars. His brother has sold off his Judge, RA Firebird and most recently the 69 RAIV 4spd Mayfaire Maize car that was reunited with its original engine after many decades thanks to Blackbirds persistence and his brothers efforts. Another friend did go and look at this car as well as the RA Firebird and storage units full of parts to restore the cars. Blackbird had a person who was doing restoration work on his cars and continued to assist his brother with getting these cars done and sold. Here are a few pics of the 69 RAIV Mayfair Maize car that recently sold at BJ.

For $150k it should have the correct cowl screen, master cylinder, and grills restored correctly. Thats what I saw in the first minute of looking at the pics. I am sure there is "more".

are not the same car .To avoid confusions .

But it's really cool to see BlkBrd's 69 IV GTO

He spent a small fortune on PHS's when he was hunting a 69 Judge in the early to mid 2000's.
eBay cars mostly - that had no documentation.

Correct they are two different cars. BlkBrd had a "crusty" 69 Judge that he put the RAIV motor in for a while. He tracked down the original owner of the car and tried to buy it from him. The guy was not interested but he kept in touch and even offered the motor back to the original owner. Eventually the original owner sold him the Mayfair Maize car and BlkBrd united the original engine with the car. He also had a 71 or 72 T/A I saw. Most of the time he drove the 68 RA Firebird to the local shows. interestingly that car was a triple black car with a black vinyl roof. However it was removed before he got the car.

The other day while doing a search on here for something ,,,,
found a post by him in around 2005 where he stated he had a 69 IV Judge Auto on the Column.

I could see him buying something in that condition out of sympathy.

He never commenced the build and planned on selling the car last year when he passed away suddenly as the result of an accident. If he had a good person doing resto work on his cars and they helped after the fact even , could be a good resource for people maybe post his name so he gets some work and others get trustworthy person to contact.

Yes that was one of his cars. It was on ebay a week or so ago with buckets and console replacing the bench and auto on column. I checked the VIN numbers in both postings. It is the same car.

I never met the person doing the restoration work. I only know his name is Harry and lives in the Melbourne/Palm Bay area in Florida. He did a lot of work on Pat's cars and then finished them for his brother. I am sure there was an agreement made for his efforts. I do not have any contact information for him.
