Default Aftermarket Top Rad Hold down

I'm going from mechanical fan to electric fans with a shroud. Looking for a supplier that sells a top plate that holds down the rad. I've seen them before somewhere.

Something like this should work. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/s...2b?seid=srese1

Are you going with fans like this with the shroud? I find they work really good as they have the rubber flaps that also allow air to flow through the radiator at high speeds.

Are you doing the electric water pump at the same time?

I was going to ..but looked at the cost of a pump and a new belt setup..too pricey for now. Maybe if I start racing more.

Something similar to that Summit part but would like four holes in the factory location.

That will get going until I buy or make something.

Only reason it says that is due to the dual fan shroud but can easily adapt with a little effort.

Take a look at this pic and others on the listing and it will be more clear.

You can use a piece of sheet aluminum, doesn't have to be very thick, so can be easy to bend. You can bend a 90 degree on the edge in a metal door jam. If you have access to a brake, you can bend it nicer/easier.

You can trim the edge towards the engine leaving just a slight lip and finish it with a piece of vacuum hose cut lengthwise.

In the GTO, I used 66-67 lower rad brackets, and bolted them to the core for the lower brackets. Then used the OE rubber mounts.

For the top to mount the fans, I used riv-nuts in the top brace of the radiator and made some temporary plates to hold the fans in place. I will go back and do a top plate to finish it off, it's on the punch list I still have to finish that car.

It's a champion radiator with Derale dual fans/shroud. I have the same fans/shroud setup for my bird, will post on my build thread when I do that car, it's almost done at paint jail.

Aside from the offering I posted, I have not found any that are 'produced', but many have fab shops make them or make them on their' own.

If you're waiting for one to be a perfect fit drop-in, don't hold your breath.

Just pointing out what it says... if it can be modified, great. Otherwise it says only fits CC.
