10.25 isn't really low. Run the cam you have and enjoy. I would run a T2 intake with spacer though

Hi, I have a similar combination in a 64 GP with 5 speed TKX.
463 with Kauffman 310cfm heads 11to 1 compression, T2 intake with 1 inch spacer and Holley 950 HP. Running OF Cam on 112 LSA with 1.65 rockers. Absolutely love this combination. Rich

My 242/248 was also on a 110 and it worked brakes marginally, I added an extra vacuum canister and drove it like that for nearly 25 years. Dad's engine with the bigger 254/262 on a 110 didnt run brakes that well. He used a electric pump for a while but eventually switched over to hydroboost. |

Another is the 455 I built for a member here. It is 9.98:1 compression and I used Paul's custom spec'd 239/243 @050 with a 112 LSA. It is also over 600 lift. That engine was built to appear stock. Stock aluminum intake q-jet RA manifolds etc....and made 507/571 on the dyno Paul uses with a really nice flat torque curve. That car drives like a stocker with a nice snug-ish converter and 3.42's and runs the power brakes and AC. A very nice well manored driver that should go into the 11's.

My old combo was 10.25 to 1 for compression with a 950 Holley HP torker 2 and a one inch spacer

I was running 11.5's with a 231/239 HFT and iron D-ports, street trim, over 20 years ago. That was with a Torker II, no spacer, and a 4779 750 DP Holley.
The bigger the intake duration, the more stall you'll need to get a decent launch. I would NOT use more intake duration than what the OF uses.

Yeah I can say that about any brand really. Most guys don't know how to tune, set up a car correctly, or even drive for that matter. There are plenty of pontiacs around here that don't run for chit too.

Certainly could have went quicker with more stall converter but there is this thing called compromise. I like nice street manors so I give up a little |

Is the Torker 2 port matched to the 310 heads? Any issues there?

You will be fine with what you have.

Testing. Making sure it stops and does not leak ect. But the best pass was a 11.50 while getting off the gas just past the 1/8 mile mark. Took off at 3000 RPM and went through the lights @ only 92 MPH. Sad deal if you can,t get a 540 BBC below 11.50 ! |
