Road race engine is IA2 aluminum block, KRE hi-ports, Cometic gaskets, wet deck. 18 dyno pulls without any leaks.

This may be a stupid question, but would the lower compression, say 12 or 12.5:1 along with a smaller bore of 4.25 or 4.31 aid in sealing and gasket longevity on one of these aluminum blocks? I know 14/15:1 is done daily on the BBC motors, and obviously the LS platforms work well with aluminum blocks in strong driver and race applications. I realize this is apples and oranges, but I'm just trying to get as much feedback as possible and talk myself into pulling the trigger. Realistically, for my power goals, a 400 block with good caps would suffice, but I would really like the peace of mind and the weight savings of the IAIIA or MR1A
