I worked on my new purchase all wknd, oil change, changed out leaky VC gasket, adjusted the choke, fixed a few grounds, and vacuum leaks washed it and "borrowed" wheels and tires off dads car that currently isn't running thanks to a cam gone flat. Looks pretty cleaned up. Pretty rare colour think. Pastel Green it's called.

I had to laugh - lighting is off here but that color is the same as the interiors walls of the house we just bought:

I saw this every time I see a nice 80’s B body. I just never expected these cars to have the following they do. I didn’t use to think too much of them but their strong style has really grown on my over the years.

These cars offer a luxurious feel that you just don’t see on modern cars.

The car looks great and I absolutely love the color

My son and I have been tearing into the Ventura at the High School shop. We pulled the front brakes and suspension and removed the old bushings and in prep for washing and sandblasting. The shop press broke, so I had to take the arms home and do the job old school.

A/C has made the passenger side more challenging. The studs that mount the upper control arms are so long that the passenger side upper control arm can't be removed without either pulling the studs, lifting the engine or removing the exhaust manifold. Not the case on the driver's side. Makes me appreciate the extra space in my GTO.

Those arms look clean clean clean! Nicely shopped! C-clamp is apparently more reliable than the school shop's press!

I think he’s finding it more work than he expected. His shop teacher and I had a good laugh yesterday when he got frustrated at the passenger a side control arm. I definitely hurled a few curse words at it too. I’m trying to teach him to step away, regroup and tackle a different project when you hit your limit on a hard one.

He’s learning some basics of patience and being smart when you’re wrenching. He got spoiled working on and driving my car. I’m really glad his shop teacher is so supportive and willing to give us a bay in the shop - and allows me to come by during school hours. He’s a good dude.

The kids can be pretty rough on the tools there.

I’m actually surprised at the overall condition and originality of the car considering the miles on this thing (103k). The leaky engine added a nice layer of grimy protection over everything. Not a lot of corroded and rusted bolts to deal with, but it’s been a long time since I got this dirty working on something.

Drove to the local collector auction on shaturday...guy wants to be Barrett Jackson of the north.

Anyway, talked my buddy out of a '76 T/A that needed some love and then this one went over the block but I didn't think it met reserver/maybe it did.

This was the nicest T/A I have ever seen in person - I could close the 300lb door with my smallest finger lol - 28k on the clock and still had the factory plastic on the carpet for some reason.

https://associatedautoauction.hibid....am?ref=catalog

Fun day had by all and my young son was just amazed with all the action going down...great time

Finished up the control arms for the Ventura with new Moog bushings and ball joints. I noticed the box for the bushings said Made in the USA but the bushings themselves were Made in Mexico

The '68 got some love from the good folks at Butler They kind of labeled it in a misleading way implying it's a legit Ram Air II, but it's cool to get some attention. They're sending a few t-shirts our way for using my car.

You continue to set a high bar!

I like that Butler chose to illustrate the sticker... any chance you influenced that?

I just sent them a few pics and the video, they decided what to show

I'm not so sure about that, but I'm stoked they took so kindly to my car considering all the other impressive things they work on.

Someone asked what kind of HP the build would put out out the YouTube video. They answered "we'd estimate 450-480+. BUT with the stoker kit the big increase would be in the TORQUE, easily 550+ , might even get close to 600!" That seems a little optimistic to me considering what I put down on the local chassis dyno. I would like to do some more pulls with the new rear end and more timing some day though.

Scored a beautiful condition ‘55 Wisconsin plate. In ‘55 Wisconsin plates were green and white. I HAD to get one for the new Green and white Catalina.

Cleaned up the SD Formula today. Taking it to a car show in Livermore next weekend. A few other people are taking 70-73 Firebirds and parking together.
