Back in the 80’s GTO pricing in the New England was simple: if it had nice shiny paint, clean looking interior and non grungy engine bay and trunk = $3-5,000.

If it needed paint, grungy inside = $1,000 to $1,500

Funny thing was that nothing else really mattered much; 4 speeds, judges, convertibles and showy colors pushed you up the range but it didn’t matter if it had the right engine, virgin metal or body by gypsum didn’t matter if they looked nice.

It was a great time to score rare and or survivor type cars because there was no meaningful premium for originality, virginity or rarity

The icing on the cake is the ads that boast big block engines, Pontiac Historical Society docs, dealer installed Judge option, factory 4.11 posi rears, any Pontiac head being a Ram Air head, the list goes on. Angry old guy rant over....

Which is a lot, really, for a non-GTO...

That car is freakin' hideous.

If you take off all the errant emblems/decals and swap out the halos, I would rock it.
