I asked for just the paint that I add a hardener too.

I use it for touch ups with an artist brush.

This is what I have - of note on NPD website they show the Plastikote can but what they ship is a match to it. The label indicates match to Plastikote 208.

Just thought I’d share this. Had my engine assembly over halfway done on painting when I realized the VHT SP122 I was using was discontinued. Long story short, I went to Sherwin Williams Automotive and they color scanned for a perfect match for the SP122. I will primer with the VHT light Grey flameproof and then color with the Sherwin Williams. I have included a photo of the label that shows the mix. That way, if anyone wants/needs some VHT SP122, any Sherwin Williams would be able to duplicate it.

I didn’t realize I have 3 more cans of the NPD Plastikote 208 match.

Well, it was more than a regular can of spray paint. But it was worth it to me. I didn’t have to start over and it matched perfectly. It was a little over $30 a can.

Hi Cardo,

Your engine looks great! I know this thread was about engine paint, but after looking at the picture of your engine I became interested in how you are routing your battery cable and starter solenoid wires to the starter with the RA manifolds. It looks like you routed the battery cable along the side of the engine, and the starter solenoid wires down the routing tube used on non-RA exhaust applications.

I'd be interested to know if that is what you did, and if so, how it worked out.

Holy old thread! Sorry Brad, I just saw your question. Yes you are exactly right on what I did there and it works great. I used the Ram Air battery tube on the motor mount for the positive cable.
