Here’s my March built 70 if anyone hasn’t added it to their database yet.

As a side, board member LPI has a 70 TA similarly optioned that is only 5 VIN’s away from mine

I'll be dang. Surprised I didn't see this before. I think Baron just coined a new term "1970 Pattern T/As". N100891 and N101130 has the same options as well. Dealer order on N110942 is 01004. It's 08004 on N101130.

Another item of note. On my list, of the Norwood cars, I have several 01C builds. The next builds to show up are 02C.

Also, N102977 is a 01C build. It has Red interior.

Interesting that N102977 PHS doesn't have the zone/dealer call out for the Zone area. (after the selling dealer zome/dealer)

Edit: Just noticed it's 'Shipped Date' is in 1971.

Wonder if it went to more than one dealer?

Sounds interesting if red interior and not invoiced to a dealer until 1971 though.

Nice. I wonder if 2977 has two PHS. Had to be some kind of promo car or executive car with the Red interior?

#2977 - at least 2 invoices , maybe 3 or 4 .
Mighty long stretch from being built 01C 1970 and final billing about 18 months later.
That's right at the end of 1971 production .

Whether they were built for PMD affairs , or vested employee transportation , they usually always tried to turn them out within 3 months or 3000 miles to lessen depreciation value.

No way to know for sure why it was built that way with higher eclectic option content and Red Interior.
But it was a hard car to sell after it's mission was complete.
Was probably put up for bids 2 or 3 times before they caved in and let it go for about 35cents on the dealer cost dollar.

Only in my opinion ,,, I don't think the Red Interior combo would have been approved for a vested employee transportation order.
They know they have to sell them soon afterwards.
Seems more like a marketing gimmick to see how Red White & Blue might hit being patriotic.

Interesting that these early cars that are so similarly equipped had black interiors. I wonder if that was because white ext/black int was what PMD thought the car would look best with, or there were some blue interior pieces that weren't ready for production that early. Blue was the most-ordered interior color in 70 by a long shot.

The red interior definitely did not catch on. Out of the 434 living 70 T/As I've recorded, only 11 are red interior cars.

I know a guy that has 2 red interior cars. 1 automatic.. and 1 manual trans. He's selling the automatic.

I used to strongly dislike red interiors;
Then I spent some seat time (driving) a 1977 starlight black car with red deluxe interior;
I am a convert - I love the red interior now!
