What years used this style bracket to hold the jute/cardboard baffle to the package tray. Currently working on a TATA.

Ok thanks. I had seen where the bracket was used in the early seventies but wasn't sure if it stayed the same through the second generation run. I have seen a reproduction that says it's correct but doesn't look anything line the one in the picture (it spans diagonally from one speaker mount stud to another and uses some type of clip the attach the baffle).

I just installed one in my TATA this past Friday. It looks like the one you pictured. It has a clip that is somewhat of a wingnut, made from what appears to be a spring steel type of material. It threads on but I think it was made to push on and thread off? Mine is basically a NOS piece a buddy gave me from his 1980 low mile TA. Im not going to take the sound baffle off at this point because it was kind of a pia to install. But I may be able to get a pic of the fastener. Also I was given both rear speakers from said 1980 TA, only one had the baffle and bracket. I am assuming that it went on the driver side. It looks to me like the baffle would interfere with the jack on the pass side.

Yes, that is the retainer clip. I believe it is also used to attach the firebird to the door panels for power window cars. It is available as a reproduction. I am not sure if the jack assembly attached to the package tray will interfere. I remember seeing some trunk detail pictures years ago but can't remember how close the jack is to the baffle.

The jack definitely would interfere. Original only had the baffle on the dr. side.
