Torque converter stall is only 2500 .A looser one would definitely have helped 60 ft

2.73 gear isn't helping either?

Looks like the right lane 1/8 lights are out of whack?

Nice job on the runs!

You think? The point is both intks manage to load the engine and produce the same torque.Anothet one of those open vs duel plane debates

Did you test the 2.73 with the NW? That's a big change

No,but I will next time.I think the paper filter is the restriction. It flowed 100 cfm less than being no filter.I could be wrong.I am impressed how the Edekbrock RPM intk continued to make power to 6000rpm .At the same time I pleased with the how the open plenum Shootout intk performed at low rpm. Both these intakes are ported. There is another restriction somewhere upstream it may be the 830 carb.I never shifted into 3rd during runs

JMO

Going from 3.42:1 to 2.73:1 will slow that run down about .4

Going from 75 degree to 96 degree will slow that run down about .1

So that would be mid to high 11.9x

If I assume your car race ready with you in it tips the scales at 3800 lbs than on that 12.13 run at 116 you where making about 475 hp at the flywheel.

This would take only about 230
Cfm from each intake port.

Nice times with that crappy rear gearing!

The mph shows you’ve got enough to run a mid 11 sec no problem. My gto at 4000lb ran a 11.7 at 115 but I had 3.70 gear and a Jim hand 10” converter for 1.65 60fts. That’s good for a 2.73 gear. Surprised the intakes were that close in et . I’ve heard that Holley intake is good for a single plane. I ran the torker 2 and had good low end response

The car ran 11.47 @119 with 3.42.It required a roll bar,so to slow it down I installed a 2:73 .I love the manners on the highway.

Extrapolating HP from weight and trap speed also includes aerodynamic loss which isnt found on a dyno ?

Also what most people look at on a dyno sheet is corrected HP, and not observed HP. These runs were in 95 degree temperature.

The rear gear change causes the tire to see about 20% less acceleration force verses before.

My 78 TA at about 3900lbs with the 2.56 gear/TH350 and a 265-50-15 tire could run most of the road course at Texas World Speedway in 2nd! Stock 180 HP motor could only pull 4000 in 3rd-about 130 though!

I think I may have found some hidden power. My current aircleaner assy base plate is stock with a 3" filter, the lid is a turned upside down aftermarket edelbrock base plate, the empty hole is fitted with a homemade lid and tighten down with a wingnut. This gave some increased clearance between boosters and underside of lid but at high rpm would go lean 13.8.and very eratic.I removed the lid today and installed a tight mesh screen over the top a now a/f is 12.1 with what feels like more power. The airflow maybe more laminar greeting more pull on the booster. Will see next time at the track.
