I have a 2005 Silverado with the digital heat control. I had to replace the control and now I can’t get the temp to sync. Passenger side is hi cold and drivers side is high heat. I did research and all I can find are videos that turn into ads for control heads. I read on another forum about holding the auto button down, unplugging the battery, etc and nothing I have found works. Has anyone actually synced one of these units.

I thought that the rebuilt ones come in the needed instructions on how to do the reset.

I’m sorry that wasn’t clear. I went and bought a blower motor resistor to fix it because it’s only the blower that wasn’t working. I replaced the resistor and it still didn’t work. I then replaced the head assuming it just wasn’t getting the signal from the head unit. It still didn’t work. After some trouble shooting I realized the blower motor resistor was DOA so I returned the head unit and defected out the motor resistor. I put the factory head unit back in and the new blower resistor. Now everything works . the drivers side temp even though it’s set to lo it is blowing warm. The passenger side is fine.

had similar issue with a 2010 Traverse...spent tons chasing it at the stealership to no avail...eventually gave up

Have you checked the blend air door motors? I've got a 2004 Silvy and the door motors love to fail and swing over to "hot" and stay there.

You think that would just start with unplugging the control head?

The air door motors have plastic gears and a potentiometer to indicate position to the controller head. Once the pot wears out/gets dirty, the motor drives into the stop and strips the gears. Sometimes it will go back to "cold" if the control head is set to cold and the truck is key cycled with the door open. After awhile it will fail back to "hot". You'll also hear some clicking/thumping noises under the dash as the motor malfunctions.

For awhile there in the summer, I'd be driving and the driver's side would go to HOT. I'd stop at a stop sign, turn the truck OFF, open the door, close the door and restart truck. The AC would blow cold again for some period of time.

The fix is to replace the blend air door motor. There are diagnostic procedures on line to confirm the motors work.

The passenger side blend motor froze in the hot position on my wife's 07 SRX driver. Going rate to replace it was about $1500 for a $35 part. Due to its location, most of the under dash components would have to be removed for access. There were shade tree methods requiring special tools and required a bit of dexterity which I'm now lacking.
So to cheat, I physically broke the motor away from the housing and used a small wood wedge to position the door arm. Cold in the summer, halfway warm in the winter. Worked great for a couple years until we finally sold the car.
Ironically the drivers side was easy to access. Three screws and it's off. But it still worked.

Come to think of it I did hear some weird clicking for a couple of weeks

It’s not the blend doors. I went out there and if I swap the passenger to heat the drivers side gets cold. The head unit is out of calibration. I disconnected the battery. I got errands to run and then I’ll hook it up when I get home and see where we are at
