I stumbled on an eBay listing for these, and stopped in my tracks.

The Parts Place - 70/71 arm rests

I had no idea these were availble, but was really hoping that something might be offered;
I have my original arm rests, but they need repairs - and I was expecting this to be a really expensive fix.

Has anyone here ordered or installed these?

I would earnestly love to hear any feedback!

I did some more surfing yesterday, and noticed that Classis Industries also offers these!

It appears as though CI only offers them in black and bright blue;

CI lists the manufacturer as 'Al Knock' - so that should lend credit to the parts.

I looked on their website, and don't see them listed there - maybe they will only offer direct after selling a given number to other vendors...??

well, I had no idea!

This is nice to have in my back pocket incase repairs of my originals is cost prohibitive.

I saw those about two years ago while ordering the last few items for my interior and was cautioned against using them if they were going to be dyed. Too much flexing to expect the dye to last through.
Since I've got the sandlewood interior, I had to live with my cleaned up originals. At least they were in decent shape except for the area around the screw holes at each end.

well, you made me look;
I received a catalog last year(?) - catalog F28;
Page 37 DOES show these - how did I miss this.

The description says bright blue and black, but there is only one part number: FA173F

I have a pair of them that I'll be installing in my 70. They look very nice, color seems to be spot on. I'll let you guys know how they fit.

how solid do they seem vs the original thick cardboard(?) backed pieces?

I bought four sets when they first came out, they're from Al Knoch IIRC. I used a bright blue set in my TA. Here's a black set I dyed in Sandalwood for my Formula. They're very rigid, required very little work to install (e.g., elongated a few screw holes), and fit well. A sharp eye may notice differences from originals, so may not be for a #1 car, but fine in my drivers.

Hard to say, as my originals were destroyed after the car sat outside for 20+ years. The new ones feel sturdy though.
