It's misplaced shaker week. There's this Blazer listed locally. That Apollo looks better. The hood on a S10 is too short.

I had a buddy in high school who had an Apollo. It was a pretty nice car.

Nothing authentic about the 455 or the shaker.
Shaker base from a 74 GTO would work right , probably even other standard breather bases also.
The shaker appears like 78-79 style.

Buick was probably the ugliest Xbody front end.
Has the Buick Century look about it.

Really nice condition car though.

You're absolutely right that the Apollo was only made from 1973 to 1975 — its short production run definitely contributes to its rarity and lower recognition compared to its GM X-body siblings. That’s likely what the seller was hinting at in terms of uniqueness.

As for the 455 and shaker setup — I agree, they aren't authentic to the original Apollo line. From what I can see, the shaker does resemble the later '78–'79 style, and you're probably right that a '74 GTO base or even a standard breather base could be adapted to fit. It would be interesting to take a closer look at the mounting setup or see if there are any identifying markings to confirm what's been used.

Regarding the front-end styling — yeah, the Apollo's nose isn't everyone's favorite, and it does carry some of that mid-70s Century DNA. But still, for an X-body, this example looks to be in excellent condition. Whether factory-original or a well-done resto-mod, it’s always cool to see a clean one out there — especially when it's something that rarely gets attention.

I thought the wing window was carried to the end of the body cycle (1968-74), evidently the 73-74's deleted that nice feature

I saw the car at a local car show yesterday. Has 6x heads, didn’t look at the block. Car seems pretty nice but I didn’t look too hard at it. Not interested in it. But, the car is legit. Did not see the owner around.
