Great thread! If you already mentioned it previously and I missed it I apologize, but by chance is that Tyrol Blue? I really like the shade. Do you happen to have the paint codes?

It's certainly come a long way! I'm working on the seats now.

The covers from Legendary look awesome. The color is spot on, and the texture of the vinyl looks correct.

The seat foam however, is another story. It's from PUI, and it sucks. It's too thick, and the cuts in the foam for ringing in the bolster seams aren't long enough. They're allegedly for a standard interior Firebird, but they're nowhere close to my original foam.

So I've been slicing and dicing, and laying in metal rods to try and help replicate the original bolster lines. It looks like a few manufacturers were trying to bring another set of foam that would have the right cuts in it, but none is available and no timetable.

Yeah, for F bodies, the ACI foam is the best option.

For A bodies, Thornton foams appear to be the best option, and less expensive than ACI.

I bought complete seats from PUI for my A body, and they are terrible when it comes to the foam/padding. It's like sitting on an overinflated beachball.

Not yet. I had to run down to Florida and kinda forgot. The Gardner exhaust just came in though. I can't wait to see it

I started laying in some sound deadening. I still have to do the inside of the doors and up in the kick panel area. It already sounds a million times better if you tap on the floor pans.

I'm in a holding pattern waiting for parts, so I decided to crack open the radio I received from fellow member
Srmmmm (thanks again!) and give it a once over.

Cleaned out all the dust, touched up a few solder joints, repainted the dial indicator and push buttons. Wet sanded and polished the lense while it was apart, and replaced the backlight bulb.

I need to get another set of knobs. These ones look decent, but the chrome foil has chipped off in a few spots. I touched them up with a silver paint pen so they look presentable, but I'll replace them.

Did the vehicle originally come with an AM w/fader radio?

It was built as AM only with a mono speaker in the dash. I'm assuming mono speaker cars didn't get the fader?

AM radios were available with a fader and rear speaker ( 1) on the driver's side ONLY ( spare tire restrictions) on most GM cars. I was told by relatives and multiple people the driving force behind this option was to get the higher frequency radio noise, distant stations, reduced.

I'm not expecting much, if anything out of the radio in this car. It basically just has to look good. I can't imagine many guys are driving around listening to AM radio anymore lol

That said, I'll put in the effort to get it working.
