Default Had a good weekend

Got our GTO running and took it racing Fri and Sat. On Fri I was able to take my dad and brother down the track (was I had to let out half track though). Sat I was cutting pretty good light just got out drove in second round. When we got home Sat evening I took my brother for a quick spin around the block in my Firebird.

Happy to see you made it back "home" and go to the track with your dad and brother again is special. How many years and runs did you dad have in that GTO?

What engine is in that thing ? Is it the one you did recently in the street section ?
Any plans on getting your Firebird back to the track ?

The Firebird has the engine from the street section. Having fun with it on the street.
GTO has a 505 with standard port e-heads, Victor and 1050.

I grew up going to Eddyville and met your Dad numerous times. He even helped me when I finally took my 76 TA up and ran in the Nostalgia Drags back in 1990. He will most definitely remember it, my engine was painted Pink! LOL

That GTO and Bird were both so bad ass and still are. Glad to see Rodney get out on the track!

Had the GTO out again Saturday, 1st time this year. I installed TRZ arms up front and AFCO shocks, also replaced a faulty alternator. Those up grades appear to have helped by .05et and a little over 1mph. Also in the 11 passes I have made in the car my light average is .033, pretty good I think for foot braking.
I would like to try a converter with more stall currently mine flashes to 5500 on the hit. Also would like to try a bigger carb. Also need to try messing with timing. Lots to do but sadly time is hard to come by.
