Question gents, on the older Crane solid roller lifters (Pontiac of course) dimensionally regarding same depth so same push rod length, what are the current brands or ones if ya know are the same installed spec ?

I would contact Brad at Bam Lifters, he worked for them and would probably know that question.
Not related to rockers but I run his lifters with no issues.

Those BAM DLC lifters have proven to be very durable.
And IMO I would not waste my time with hyd rollers after all their problems. Just go solid with BAMs. You do not need to check lash all the time if you use good parts. |

I just need one pair to re-complete my Crane set not a whole set kind had to buy today a local deal on Ebay for a link bar pair of Comp well see , I called Howards but they are out of stock would have been half the price of the Comp oh well , I need my stuff going soon can't wait. Thank for the feedback

One pair of Crane solid roller BUT I just pulled the plug on Ebay for one pair on some Comp ones that showed to be local in Arlington! dang it forgot to ask you

Happens all the time. I think folks put my number under "free tech advice" rather than "ready to checkout"
![]() These are either late Crane or early BAM. They have about forty passes and dyno time on them. I also have a box of old Crane tall body offset lifters we used to run until Crower made them for a Pontiac. |

OK, years ago I bought a used set of Comp SR lifters from Ace at PPR. They were in his dads car and had a fair amount of use on them. BUT, one set had a small crack in a lifter body. What I ended up doing was buying one pair of the cheap Butler SR lifters and running that pair on # 1 cylinder. That pair had a different length pushrod with a different wall thickness. It ran fine for over a decade, the engine never knew the difference.
